to every story there are three sides both parties and the truth seems to me we only have one side of the story here (if we believe everything that's printed in a paper) so how can people possibly make a fair judgement about what did or what didn't happen and why? If Will gave an interview for example and said Kurt had been rude and insulting towards him (not saying he did just making a point) so he didn't shake his hand, how would that affect peoples opinions, judgements, condemnations If Will gave an interview and said I don't know anything about it why what happened, what's been said and it turned out that it wasn't Will at all who'd refused to speak to him or shake his hand but a misunderstanding because Kurt had asked to meet Will and someone from Will's record company had refused because Will was tied up with doing something else (he's in the middle of promotion for his album) ie doing an interview etc, how would that affect peoples opinions Or maybe he just didn't like Kurt, shock horror, there's plenty of people I dislike who I have to work with on a daily basis and wouldn't go out of my way to speak to either, it's not a requirement to like everybody you come into contact with. Funny isn't it how only Kelly and Will have come in for criticism concerning their relationships with Kurt at WI. Nothing to do with the fact that they are the two people in the competition who are the most successful and therefore most newsworthy I suppose

A very good post 'A FAir Trial' and I totally agree. You have hit the nail on the head.
It seems to me that some people on here believe everything newspapers print. I'm not as gullable as that because of having first hand experience in the past with newspapers. They can be liars.
I wonder what the outcome would have been if the story were Kurt had been rude to Will or that Kurt had been rude first and Will had felt he did not want to shake his hand because of this.
Believe what you Will but I have an open mind. If it is found that Will was rude to be true then I will be the first to criticise him even though I love the guy to bits.

actually, kurt said he is getting along just great with everyone except with will who he thought was a big ....... (no need to repeat the exact word here but he told the interviewer: "and you can write that down).
whatever transpired between the two before the show, they seemed fine during and after the show with each other so i say we all let it go.
if you are going to be reading what kurt says, you have to take into the account that he is funny in a sense that the saturday night live is funny. that's part of his charm and his fans love it (but i can see why some people may take offense to it).

There are good causes then there are lost causes and the majority of Idol contestants fit that bill.

Sorry I haven't had time to read through this whole thread ... so sorry if I'm repeating what's already been said.
Firstly, Will has always been the first one to totally big-up Pop Idol for giving him the huge break he needed! HE is NOT the one that has been dissing it! But the media have always seen him (and ALL OTHER SINGERS THAT START THIS WAY!) as temporary as a result of such reality TV shows.
Secondly, Will won this title 2 years ago - not a few weeks like Guy! You wait and see how the media treat Guy in a few months time and then get back to us!
Thirdly, the media have just realised Will IS a serious artist, that he CAN write and perform his own stuff, AND IS GOING TO STICK AROUND!
Therefore, can you not see why he's not keen to be 'in' another competition?? It's nothing to do with not recognising the show's part in his career, it's about progressing ON FROM THAT! After all, a show is just the beginning, whether you're Will or Guy or whoever!
Regarding the insults regarding the charity single, I suggest you get your facts straight!
Firstly, Will does endless things for charity - mostly without ANY public recognition of the fact ... i.e. he is NOT doing it for a public pat on the back!
Secondly, he's an ambassador of several charities that are close to his heart which he DOES publically endorse to try and raise their public profile.
Thirdly, he often involves himself in giving charity concerts, has done a charity CD, auctioned a self-portrait for charity, and done various 'appearances' at public events and not expected anything in return! In the summer he took part in a 10K run for Capital Radio's 'Help a London Child' charity - coming an impressive 22nd out of thousands that took part! Will's Official web-site also involves itself constantly in raising money for the charities he supports and Will often provides signiature etc. so that items can be auctioned off! And these are only the things I know about ... I'm sure there are loads more!
All I can say, is that IF Will refused to be involved in this then there must be a VERY GOOD REASON! 'Cos Will is full of integrity and the most charitable person I have the pleasure of knowing!
Just to complicate matters further, PI has just finished for the second time here in the UK - their Christmas record only got to number 5 for one week and has now dropped out altogether ... so maybe the whole idea was just thought of as 'bit naff' and ill-timed by the organisers and people have jumped to conclusions regarding WIll!
Seems to me, some people just want to criticise him - or, maybe, the UK! - and are looking for excuses! Wonder why that could be?

Sorry, a hobbit fan, but are you saying that Kurt may have been joking then??
I think a lot of confusion has occurred 'cos of translations and lack of eye-contact! That's part of the trouble with the web and the newspaper - you can't see what somebody looks like when they say something!
As you say, they seemed to be getting on fine on TV and afterwards, which is partly why this statement has always seemed very odd to us!

ooh a very sore point I see! ... must be to resort to personal insults! Look, I've got defensive and cross 'cos some people have been really insulting to Will on here without knowing the truth and without knowing very much at all about him! How frustrating do you think that is? But you can check I've never ONCE insulted Guy, either personally or vocally - not because I can't , but because I choose not to! If the tables were turned and you felt people were unfairly criticizing Guy don't you think you'd want to put his side across? And hope people were big enough to respect your different opinion even if they didn't agree???
