Dear Famme, I'm just trying to find a solution for the fact that, in Australia and other Western countries, the growing trend is that girls as young as EIGHT years old are developing anorexia and other eating disorders- Also, starving themselves at school reduces their ability to concentrate, thus putting them at a significant disadvantage in their intellectual development. Yes I do watch these type of television documentaries such as the recent story "Is dieting making you dumb?" aimed at primary and teenage girls. And I am not sorry if you are offended that I do read widely-knowledge is power, and reading gives people choices about how they will live their lives. Only morons try to reinvent the wheel, when others have paved the way before them -if you live your life with this tpe of attitude, what an incredible waste of time your life must be? Frags You just don't get it, do you? You have only eyes for your own posts. Now answer a question: Why did Paulini go with that provocative tight sexy golden number?

Famme darl, Are you male or female? I am female. Secondly - For your further clarification, I refer you to my post under the heading re :comments about Paulini - Whilst on that thread , you may also find some other intelligent comments about feminism, which you might find enlightening. Frags

I think that although Dicko was a little tactless in how he spoke to Paulini that night.. but there are three things that I think about the whole thing..
1) That outfit was awful. It was NOT flattering. Paulini is gorgeous and there is nothing wrong with being fleshy, but everybody should be wearing clothes that suit their body shape.. The gold thing.. No.. It just wasn't right, if you ask me. 2) Australian Idol *is* about image, in some respects. Whether we like it or not, we are always going to criticise the way people look.. which brings me to my final point 3) Yes, Dicko was rude, but this is pretty much a reality TV show.. Everything the judges say basically needs to be on national TV.. Whether its good or bad.. thats what the show is about..

It's a case of cruel to be kind. What Dicko said was hard for him to say, (and hard to hear) but it had to be said.
