hey sfa..Shannon said he has NEVER heard of NYNY before til the big band show ... that was quite risky I thought.. why choose it then?? that was said on the Inside Idol show I think .. I doubt if he was really heard any of the rnb and big band style of music til Idol..his influences would definitely be the country rock ones..so the fact that he came out and blew the crowd away on that night was quite an achievement. I thought he sang really well considering.

I didn't know Shannon hadn't been a fan of Sinatra, had he seen videos prior to his performance? Maybe it's a real talent he has because there were times in that performance that he just seemed older, I was impressed. In the end it depends on Shannon's ambitions. Maybe he just loves to sing, entertain and make a reasonable amount of money. Why not? ;D

I loved the knee thing he did during NYNY. ;D
He looked like he was thoroughly enjoying himself (not to mention quite good in a suit).

Thanks guest Just another thing, how could Shannon have come second in AI if he was locked into one style? Every week the theme changes... Well just because you sing different styles doesn't mean that you are good at them. That is what I meant by locked in. However, I read Guestt post on Shannon and I am gonna listen again to some of his other downloads. Cus I did like his voice on that song. Some of the downloads I thought were really shaky. Maybe I didn't give him a fair chance Guest? But thanks for imforming me...will have a listen again!!!

Well just because you sing different styles doesn't mean that you are good at them. That is what I meant by locked in. But he was good at them! That's what we were trying to say above. And if he wasn't good then he wouldn't have got as far because the audience would have recognised that and voted him off like the others that weren't so good at different styles. Was Shannon ever in the bottom 3?
