Of course the Cat Strangler is talented - no question but he definitely did the wrong song as I'm sure was the case for other perfomers - however that said - Kelly and Guy were by far the best two performers there. It's posts like these that make me want to hug you... and Paulini! ;D

It really makes me wonder why people like unwell waste their time responding to threads like these.
Obviously Guy can't please everyone, but my opinion is that if Guy isn't your thing why read all these threads about him?
There are heaps of artists that I don't particularly like but instead of wasting my time posting negative things in the forums dedicated to them I choose to come here and talk to other Guy fans!
Being primarily an Australian forum it's pretty much a given that we're going to be some of his biggest fans.. Saying Guy is overrated here is unnecessary. Go to another other Idols forums - you'll find the same thing there.

aww@Pinky lol
I know you're still upset about Paulini getting voted off as the 4th finalist, especially that night, as all the judges said her and Guy were the best on that night, yet they both ended up bottom 2 next day.....fans must of thought they were so safe so didnt vote, and others were worried so voted their faves a lot more?
cool new article with photo about Kurt from Aust Who mag.
LORD OF THE SINGS Norways Kurt Nilsen,25, won World Idol despite Australian Judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson declaring he resembled a hobbit. "Theres no glam about me, says the former plumber and father or two. I take talk about my looks as a joke, besides you could say Im a Lord of the Rings fan." For the record, his money was on American Idol Kelly Clarkson. " If not her, I thought Guy Sebastian was going to win. not me" After chalking up the biggest-selling single in Norways history, Nilson hopes for worldwide success, sans makeover: "I want to keep myself just the way I was a year ago.""
see even kurt thought that Guy was great plus hes often said nice things about Guy in interviews like: interview with Kurt in the local newspaper, that he were hoping for a spot amongst top 5. His own favourite is Guy Sebastian from Australia. - He, I've got faith in. He could have been the son of Lenny Kravitz.
Guy fuc*ing cool guy. It's him I like the most chatting with. We have been out drinking beer together. He is such a huge star in Australia, and he is so down to earth, Kurt says.
I think Guy and Kurt will have fun hanging out together if Kurt comes to promote in Australia

Guy is the chosen one.
He was sent to earth to unite the world thru his music.
His skills have been honed in the church for many years till he was ready to be unleashed on the world.
Shake with fear George Bush, gnash your teeth world leaders, for Guy is coming to do the job u couldnt do.
Hold your heads high, Guy is coming to deliver you.

While I would love to see Guy's talent appreciated worldwide some prudence in making estimations is needed. If he makes it big world wide it's going to take a long while.
For comparison Robbie Williams and Kylie are very big here and in the UK but haven't made much of a dent in the US market. Robbie said he can walk around freely in the US because no one has heard of him or recognises him! If Guy makes in big world wide (and I think he has the potential) it's going to be some time from now after he has consolidated his position as an exceptional artist in Aust and UK.

PS This opinion may be controversial but reality is better than denial!

No... Elijah Wood is the chosen one!... Elijah= chosen one... no really... it does!! Aww, and he was chosen to carry the ring too Did you know that Elijah made his own demo tape in the backyard because he wanted the role of Frodo so badly? Cute! I would've loved to see Arnie play Frodo - I will carry this ring for you. I do not know the way. But I'll be back. {several scenes later, at Mordor} Frodo-neggar- Sauron, eat this! (pulls out machine gun) Ahhh, LOTR, Arnie style

This “unwell†person sure picked the right screename. Jealousy and resentment of Guy is eating him up so much its driving him mad in the head. He has issues if he’s gonna spend this much time bashing and hating him -- for someone who is not a fan of Guy he sure spends too much time talking about him. But while he’s busy with his negative mentality Guy is out there doing positive things with himself and career. Guy has talent and a good attitude that’ll make him do well in life, while you keep on seething with resentment. This fame is going to keep opening doors for him in the future.

I thought I’ll post this review from an american board so you Guys can see people thought Guy did well enough to win The person usually writes reviews of American Idol that she shared with other fans. As you can see even though she’s a Kelly fan she ranked Guy first (and most of her fans usually don’t like to admit anyone can be better) She and I saw it pretty much the same way – except I like Diana second and not Kelly. And I liked Guy’s arrangement more (the original version is a bit boring and too slow for me. I loved guys voice and how he sang it) Even though she wasn’t big on the arrangement, Guy made her like it and thought he’s great enough to be first place in her eyes -- but expected him to come third when the votes comes in. (I bet she’s stunned by the results too. A lot of people expected him in the top 3 at least. Judges comments seemed that way too)
I ranked mine like this: 1.Guy 2. Diana. 3. Kurt. 4. Will. 5. Kelly. 6. Peter 7. Ryan. 8 Heinz 9. Jamai. 10. Alex. 11. Alexander.
Here's her review: ___________ << Ahhh, to have something to review again. I recorded the World Idol show while I was at home visiting family because they would have thought I was crazy if I had watched it there. My original intention was to skip to the singing and maybe listen to a couple of judge's comments for the good ones, but the comedy of the show was just too much. I'm not talking about the announcer, I'm talking about the clips of how each country chose their idol and some of the singing. It was really a window into the pop culture of other countries in my opinion. "Maniac" deserves an Emmy for Best supporting actor in a comedy because I was rolling. I'm not going to review every person, mainly because several of them fell into the pack. I will say my opinion on the worst singers, the middle of the pack,a nd then the top 5. Worst Runner Up (in my opinion): German Idol - How funny was that. I had to pause it and yell to my bf to come down and see this guy. I mean, what does he think this is? Fame? You Better WORK!!! Worst winner: Alex - I felt bad for the girl, I thought she looked lost on the stage and it actually was funny. I think the judges should have just left it alone and let her leave the stage. I don't even know what she was trying to sing, but it wasn't that song. Middle of the pack: Heinz - Hole crap he's hot, and he's not even my type. That guy will be on a Soap Opera in America soon. I'll set my TiVo. Dutch Idol - I can't remember his name, he did a good job, just nothing to get excited about. Belgium - Great, he "did his thing" as Randy would say. Wrong show, imitated the great Cobain. I did think his sass back to the judges was the most relevant and cogent I have seen on any idol shows. Ryan from Canada - I didn't like the song, I didn't like his voice. He seemed to be too earnest or serious for the competition, and he just didn't have any appeal to me. Very in the middle though. Top 5 (in reverse order): 5) Pan Arabic Region Idol - I thoiught she had a really nice tone ot her voice and sounded great. She didn't waste our time with a butchering of I Will Always Love You, so just for that, she fits into my top 5. I liked her, but wouldn't vote for her, just because like Simon, I don't really know How good she is. 4) Will Young - I really like this guy, he's impressed me from the start with his ability to reliably hit the notes and perform a song. He does have a weird voice, and it may not be for everyone, but personally, I really like it. I also liked his rendition of that song. I think he does a really good job choosing his songs. 3) Kurt Nilson - I liked this guy at first because of the underdog factor, then I thought he did a great job with the song as well. I would have liked to have seen him sing a couple of songs because some of his competition footage was better in my opinion. I think that he would have beaten any male competitor from either season of American Idol. I know Clay has a bigger voice, but this guy has a truly distinctive sound that could make him an international threat. (And between Ruben and Clay, I would have taken Clay, so I'm not a "hater") 2) Kelly Clarkson - Oh, I still love her, this was a tough choice. I thought she took the song and did it differently, she did have a tough time with one note however, and that can't be ignored. In spite of this, I thought the Canadian Idol judge's comments wreaked of sour grapes. Kelly may not be one of the great R&B divas (isn't this a pop show) but we have to remember that she wasn't competing for World R&B Diva, she was up against others of her similar experience level and I thought she was the most professional of the bunch. With the one exception of that tough note, her voice was the strongest and the most likely to win a competition. 1) Guy Sebastian - I absolutely loved this guy's voice. I didn't love the arrangement of the song, but he made it work for me. He did not miss a note and I would buy his CD in a second. He reminded me of Terence Trent D'Arby whom I loved, but who got way too cocky way too quick. He had the smoothest voice and just needs to polish up the performance a bit. I actualy would put him in a tie with Kelly if I could, but I promised a ranking, so that's what I'm doing. Kelly outperformed him but a bit, but he outsang Kelly by a small margin. As far as how I think the voting will go, I think it will be the following: 3rd - Guy Sebastian 2nd - Kelly Clarkson - Being the American in this contest would not be the best spot in my opinion, a lot of people feel that America does not see the rest of the World as Pop Culture, so why should they vote for Americs (that's just my impression). 1st - Kurt Nilson - He will win because he did have a great performance, he was different, and because he's the underdog. No one will have a hard time voting for a guy from Norway.>>
