melanie, you are right and thanks for being frank and constructive.
on the night, kurt delivered the best composition which appealled to the global audience who voted him in. i did because i couldn't vote for guy and he was the best on the night. if i was able to vote for guy, it would have been based what i knew he was capable of obviously like most. guys fans are pretty passionate and seeing guy, who has so much ability, versatility, come 7th was confusing and dissappointing, especially to a few less deserving. now that the dust has settled, i think that we can get to see more of guy and the other world idols prove themselves.

Guy was not just singing at world idol, his performance was more than that. He has the presence that only a few special people on earth have, the abililty to reach out to people. He sang about how great the world is, he walked into the crowd and touched people like a many great leaders do. He has the most symetrical face I have ever seen. There is a very clever mind behind that smiling koala bear face. Expect more than just great singing from him!

I just think alot of people are used to listening to "fastfood" music. Made quickly (no thought or real artistic effort), served up quickly, and consumed quickly!!
So when someone like Guy comes around, who is just so freakin' talented...people don't know what box to put him in!! I say, do your thang, Guy!! Keep making those songs your own!!
Other artists who people thought would not "make it" because they were "different"!!
Missy Elliott Terence Trent D'Arby Jimi Hendrix John Coltrane Anita Baker Duke Ellington etc.
Well, you get the pic. As I said, "Do your thang, Guy!!"

Guy won't be a big star his music is to light not cool.
Plus to many good new singers around I sing better than him and i am not pro people have said to me unwell why don't u become a singer like guy, and i say nah I want to sing just for fun plus i don't want to sing girly song's I sing heavy rock and stuff like that.
You know sometime Guy's music sounds like those wiggle guy's.
Not like exact same but childish or something
But hay if it rocks your world go for it
It's a bit pink for me tho.
rock on.

you're gonna have to backup your statement by getting out there and doing it.
if you think you can cut it and can sing as well as guy, then you've goy my vote.
it's just too easy to sit and talk about what might be, what could be and what's not going to happen.
i know what is happening now and that's the building of guys success story. music, fans, huge records sales here and across the ditch.
album just been released in the usa and about to be in the uk.

TO UNWELL
If Guy does as well as the Wiggles have done I'm not going to complain.
They could have done the NORMAL thing and been average but they took a risk did something different and look at them now.
I hope Guy stays true to himself, some of the best songs on his album are the one's he wrote. He is loved for his ability to express who he is through is music.
he isn't the 'hard rock' sort of guy. He cares about people and that's what comes out in his music.
Anyway if we all liked the same music it would be a boring place indeed.
Thanks GUY for showing us that when music comes from the heart it touches people. My Beautiful friend has been such a gift to me that words can not explain.
So yeah i sure guy will do well internationally because there is a need in the industry for music that touches people and lifts them. It's not soft it's heart felt.

Here's to the very effective risk takers of our country. Unwell, are you really unwell? Physically? If so - sorry to hear it.

People all over the world voted thay's why it's called world idol.
Don't forget Guy only beat 3 other people in world idol.
So all i can say is a lot of people didn't like what he was selling.
If Guy would have won world idol all his fan would be saying O my God how good is Guy, look he is world idol.
So don't tell me no one took it seriously
You are only saying that cause he finished 4th last.
As for his cd's doing well in England and USA i very much doubt that.
He would be just a nother singer in the USA with his style, a million r+b performers there much better then him.
As for England they gave him a no vote in world idol
He is a ok singer but i really don't know where he go's from here.
I feel he has got to pick his songs more carefully and sing them a bit less trilly.
Kurt won because he was the best singer on the night picked a good song, and didn't stuff around with it.

So you're saying people voted only for who they liked with no other motivation? Thats a load of crap, I bet a lot of voters rang up for people who they felt weren't threats to their Idol. Alexander was clearly the worst on the night, but did he come last? No, so obviously the voting wasnt just based on the nights performance.

chicagoholic, most of the votes were based purely on politics. take a look at the pan-arab vote, america aus and uk in bottom 3, with alexander 1st. i think its sad to use your votes as a political statement and take away the opportunity of a win from the truly talented singers. i didnt like Kurt NOT changing beautiful day, you must change a song a bit to make it your own, not mimic the original singer, thats why I think he didnt deserve top place. Guy however changed it too much and confused the hell out of the voting audience, good voice, not so good arrangement.
Just my 2 cents

I agree that it was political voting, World Idol was turned into a Eurovision type competition.
Also, I believe that What a Wonderful World was the wrong choice because really it took the people in Australia a while to warm up to Guy's uniqueness. And for International viewers, the different arrangement probably took away from Guy's vocal skills (which weren't shown to their full potential either btw)
I would really like to know what Simon Fuller was thinking when he picked the songs for the contestants.

All i can tell you is the results which u already know but do not want to accept.
Guy beat 3 other people, the reason was because he was unpopular on the night with most of the voters.
All the conspiracy's you are building into it are rubbish.
It was a singing contest , you get up and sing a song and people vote simple as that.
May be you are over rating Guy's talent i don't know.
But the world has spoken, we must move on.
