I told you guy is a joke and that he wounldn`t do well in world idol, shannon would have kicked ass!!!!! *look who`s having the last laugh now hehehe* ;D I live in America but I've listened to some of the songs of the other cotestants. And in my opinion that Shannon shouldn't even be second place. Guy has the best voice and should win. But Cosima and Paulina are better than Shannon too. Sorry but I found Shannon's singing to be quite bland and boring and his voice is nothing special.

and what a joke it was. biased judges of america and britain denergrating idols in there wake in unison, released thru 11 countries in 11 varieties who knows what the original order ever was, then to here the results in breakdown of each country and left believing thay americans are racing to the shops to buy their copies of dianna karzons albums and peter everard at the same time as the middle east are buying their copies of alexanders albums on mass, it is a wonderful world isnt it? shame its all a scam .

But I expected he’d win because it was clear the Idol producers wanted him to win. The producers wanted Kelly or Will to win. That were obvious. And it would also have made them the most money in the end. But I expected Guy to be in the top 3 at least. But looking at the results it’s obvious the votes were manipulated by producers -- this is still a reality show people. Guy placed low because of the same reason Will didn't do it any better.. They took two very known songs and made them into something wich most people didn't like, especially since noone can help comparing it to the original. This not about having a problem that Kurt won. Its just hard to believe that people are actually using this results to claim the world doesn’t think Guy is good enough and should rank so low. I think that very few said that Guy weren't good enough, it were only that 'this night' people prefered the other performances. The producers already knew how they gonna do the ranking for whatever reason (maybe to help some safe face, and others sell more records) The peoples votes didn’t really have much to do with it. And nothing wrong with his arrangement of the song either. His rendition is better than the original – that one is boring and jazzy. Even tough I like Guy, I thought the original were much better, especially in christmas, I bet alot of other people had heard the original much during the christmas, I think that might have been the reason he didn't do better.. In my book Will were almost as bad as Alexander because it sounded like Westlife singing The Doors. I think that people like Jamai delivered just as good a performance than Heinz, but I think that he got most of heis votes on the looks. The Arabs have very different taste in music than me. My 2 cents.

I think that people like Jamai delivered just as good a performance than Heinz, but I think that he got most of heis votes on the looks. The Arabs have very different taste in music than me. My 2 cents. There’s nothing wrong with Guys arrangement cause most people probably didn’t see it like the same song and mostly cared how nice he sang and how beautiful his voice sounded. And thats why people thought he did very good. ( I didn't even know it was the same song until later. And the judge who didn't like the arrangement didn't influence me either. And other judges loved it obviously) And people on the American boards thought it was gonna be between Guy, Kurt and Kelly to win. So they thought Guy was great obviously and should place high. And it’s unusual for majority of people to agree how well Guy did and then see him ranked so low. I don’t think the producers necessarily wanted Kelly or Will Young to win because they can make more money from them. (it will be too obvious to hand it to Kelly) They already made lots of money for them too and Kelly doesn’t need help with international exposure. (but they need her atleast second place to keep her credibility) But Kurt has sold the least and it won’t hurt to have him win – plus they probably think they can market his U2 type music more. (He’s talented too and that has something to do with it.) Oh and Will Young won the British pop Idol with that song by "The Doors' so obviously people didn’t have a problem with his version. He did not put enough passion in it at 'World idol' though. There are lots of songs that are remakes so I don't see why its an issue. And to me both Guy and Will songs are good versions. Oh and a lots of rock singers placed higher in the Arab votes and they are usually more into soulful and melodic music like what Guy, Kelly and Will sang. I doubt someone like Peter really beat Guy there. Not to mention they couldn't have voted Alexander first place when he’s clearly bad. I think it should show not every part of the votes is that legitimate (they usually like beautiful high voices like Guy's too. Thats how their music tend to sound - Its obvious from Diana's pretty singing. I expected Guy in the top 2 in the Arab countries) Anyway, it seems you don’t want to believe the producers do manipulate the results but believe what you want. Some of us are more savvy to this things than others. You already asked me in the “Comments world idol and top 5†thread how I knew they manipulate the show and obvious who they wanted to win and I answered you.

If you don't believe that the producers manipulated the results just look at the songs picked for the contestants.
Alicja, Alexander, Jamai, Heinz, Guy all had better songs to sing. I'm not too sure about Will, Peter, Diana, Ryan cause I don't know what songs they had which really pleased the crowd.
I've heard a lot of Kurts songs and Beautiful Day was most definately one of the better choices.

I think it's worth remembering that every country saw a different version! I was there at the recording and it was good - apart from malicious judges of course! But I think each country saw different judges interpretations of the artists - so not everyone got the same version, and therefore not the same impression of the show! I don't know if you had the same presenters or not, 'cos I heard that each country was going to do their own bit regarding that too??
If you had the same presenters, then I'm sorry you didn't like Ant & Dec 'cos they're a good laugh .... but I suppose humour doesn't always travel does it?

lmao! Yes, it would be! But it's been a long time coming!!! Ant & Dec always pick on topical things to have a laugh about - they do it all the time with things that are going on here ... they're often REALLY rude to the judges on PI too!!!! IN fact, after Will won PI there was this special winners show where they had all of the final 10 performiong etc. and ANt & Dec kept building up to the 'special' person and performance that was coming up .... which we obviously took to being Will, and they built this up throughout the show and were taking really special notice of everyone from the show - EXCEPT WILL! who they deliberately ignored! So that the camera kept focussing on Will's sad face (he was obviously in on it too!) whilst they built him up to be knocked down again. It really was very funny! But they're all really good friends since PI ... which is probably why it worked so well.
As to the editing, I'm sure it will have affected how people saw contestants - 'cos some they may have only seen the negatives remarks on!
Personally, I think the true world idols are going to be revealed in time - those that stick around and are sucessful ... after all it's ridiculous to think the whole world (or 11 countries!!) can possibly judge it on one performance. It'll be very interesting to see who those world idols will be!

Was a totally weird show. Most people here can see that it was severly edited and manipulated. And why did we in America only have 2 hours to vote??
And, they showed it here on XMAS evening. I had to leave my family, and the dinner table, and go and watch the show. To me it was bad timing.
Anyway, Guy rocks!! Moving on...

It'll be very interesting to see who those world idols will be! you're not wrong in both points. some careers may have just started with the world exposure and some may have just been damaged. as you say, time will tell and i already have my suspicions. because of the huge global following, you would have thought that extending the show and getting the idols to sing one of their own pieces as well would have been the best option all round.
