Guy is the brightest and most unique male solo vocalist that has come out of this county. We finally have the opportunity to show the world we produce great Male vocalists too and world idol is most amazing arena to demonstrate that. I support Guy 100% and because of this feel reluctant to vote for any other countries competitors. Am I the only one who feels this way, or is no-one going to vote from any country.? Lets face it, only a fan will be watching on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve and even then it's a push. How will our lovely little Guy :-*get votes if all the fans in all the countries feel like me I love ya Guy! Go get em, you so have what it takes, you could hypnotise people with your vocals in your sleep, and your album is fantastic, love love love I 4 U. My cousin in the USA said they would vote for me so my best wished and prayers are heading your way.

The thing is, they have done the voting so that if Guy gets 12,000 votes in America, and Kelly gets 12 votes here, if they are the contestants with the largest amount of votes in those countries, they will each get 10 points. So u should vote for the contestant u think is most deserving (after Guy, of course ;D), so at least if Guy doesn't win, (please no!), the next most deserving one will.
Do u understand what i mean? If it was that each vote is individually put towards a contestant, i wouldn't vote, as it would constiutute voting against Guy. But this system means it doean't matter, how many votes a contestant gets, it's how many countries like him.
God, all my words come out in a jumble. :-/This is also abd news 4 Guy, because everyone is saying 'oh, the americans will like him, they'll all vote 4 him'. But he needs MANY countries 2 like him.

$4.00 Cough *holly crap* Thats a bit ouchie, naturally to love Guy means we are feeding the machine with all our hard earned dollars but it's for a good cause. It's so awesome to see young talent being recognised so we can finally wave goodbye to Johnny Farnham, for heavens sake, how many final, last, never to be repeated, farewell, goodbye concerts can one aging rocker have, and when i say 'rocker' i need everyone to remember he became famous for singing "Sadie the cleaning ladie" . Thanks for clearing that up for me, I don't feel so bad now about voting for other talent in the comp, but I am still hoping against all hope that Guy rocks it in, just so I can see the shocked look on his lovely round chops!

Just out of interest, what is the prize for winning World Idol? Obviously it's not a recording contract.

Just out of interest, what is the prize for winning World Idol? Obviously it's not a recording contract. "While "Idol" winners get record contracts in the national contests, a Fox spokeswoman said she was unaware of a prize for the international champion." Found this in article at: www.freep.com/entertainment/music/idol16_20031116.htm

Trish,
You should make sure you won't be wasting your money before voting for Guy. Voting is based on regions, and Guy gets maximum points in his region automatically. Unless NZ isn't counted as in the region, voting for Guy wouldn't influence the result of the competition. It would be like throwing money away.
