She had a very good voice. But her age showed so much. It appears to me she has had a fairly sheltered and cosseted life(luckily for her). I think she has some growing up to do and in quite a few years time she could be brilliant. She has now quit school and concentrating on her music career, she lives near me on the NSW central coast. I would go and see her if she is on at any of the local clubs. Life experience will improve her stage presence and her voice.

Did anyone notice the ad on ch 10 which is for ch10. It features Guy,Shannon and Paulini and Christine Anu is on there too other people too, but I am hopeless at faces so not sure who they were. But no sign of Cosima. They weren't singing just mucking about on the beach. None of the other finalists were on it I don't think. Looks like they have wiped her, what do you think?

If unselfish-ness is bliss then you would have to be some kind of martyr. Everyone needs to be selfish sometimes and not neccesarily meaning the right to abort here, just in general. Lets not judge anyone. We can leave that to which ever god we happen to believe in, because who knows how any of us would behave in certain circumstances. We are human and not infallible.

When does a life start. What constitutes a life. Who knows how any of us would feel if we were placed in the situation where we would have to make that decision to abort or not. A child should be wanted and loved and if that cannot be then maybe the answer for that person may be an abortion. I believe anyway in Karma and what we do in this life will have to be answered for in the next. I think it is a personal and private thing and others should not condemn anyone for making that decision. I don't believe anyone would make it lightly. So I am for personal freedom, and doing what you believe is the right thing for you at that time.

My daughter has decided to become a christian, not under any influence from me and my hubby. But she now attends sally army church youth group. They are doing a drama production and have to wear trousers with skirts on top as they have been told it is not right for girls to wear trousers but they can't wear skirts on stage and show their legs. This just sounds so stupid to me. Apparently it is disrespectful to god! I don't try and influence her not to go but she finds my spiritual beleifs hard to fit into what she has learnt there. Still the sallies do some good work and the group of kids are very supportive of each other so that is a good thing for her growth into adulthood(she is 15and a half). But I do find this idea very outdated. Surely god listens to everyone and does it matter whether their legs are showing of if they have trews on. It baffles me.

Great idea PBG and good post best guest. I'm bored too. I am a taurean and originally from Manchester U.K, but have lived in oz for 16yrs,love it too. I am an artist in my spare time and am currently working on a theme of rockpools that turn into wierd abstractons when I have finished with them. They end up looking like bones and less charitable people have said offal(haha)all critiscm is good as long as it is not nasty. I work in Pastel mainly. I am an avid SF/Fantasy fiction reader. My fave movies are "The Colour Purple" "The Shawshank Redemption" "Shirley Valentine" and"The Wizard Of Oz" I would love to travel more in Australia and overseas. I have 4 kids aged between 17 and 9yrs. I am a good mum(I think) And a good cook(typical taurean) I am a spiritual not religous person but respest others beliefs. I still love my husband after 21 yrs(and he still loves me)we are best friends. I love live music(if its good)of any kind. I love tea and chocolate. And I love Guy. I am not a 60yr old pervert.

PBG opportunity knocks now for you to go get the book The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho) I've been ranting about :> :* Syrup, I have read "The Alchemist". Isn't it great makes you think a bit, even though it is a small book there is a lot in it. I found myself stopping mid chapter and thinking about what I had read. Another great book is "Expecting Adam" which is about 2 harvard academics who find they are going to have a baby...............okay,okay doesn't sound good up to now. But it is about how this changes their whole lives and makes them see the world in a totally different perspective. I loved the book so much that I felt I couldn't lend it out there for a while. Can't remember the author but it is a true story and has a very spiritual side to it. Its out on loan on the moment! Also got Paul Cilehlo "By the river Peidro I sat down and wept". Haven't read it yet though. I am stuck in a trashy fantasy series called "The Bakers Boy" by J.V.Jones. Ahh well it passes the idol-less moments

Why doesn't everyone who hates the video bombard BMG with emails(not too nasty)regarding the awfulness of that video. Give 'em a serve!! I tried to find some email address but couldn't. Maybe someone can provide one if they know it.

I thiught the single was pretty boring when I first heard it. But its kind of growing on me now and yes I can't get it out of my head either. But I agree with everyone else that the video is terrible, very amateurish. And yes it looks like they have gone overboard with the lippy and made his lips look enormous. Still I hope the album will be better.

There is another thread on the aus idol forum and it has a link to a site where you can get Shannons version of the song. I watched it and it is exactly the same as Guys. They could have done alot better it is so cheesey, the bird with the feathers what the hell has that got to do with the song. You Know what it looks like to me like a video someone did in their living room. Very amateurish. Plus Guys lips are not in sync with the words. They have dressed him up to look silly and put lippy on him that makes his lips look enormous. I would say don't blame Guy listen to the way he sings the song and not the way this video has been produced. It has been done in a rush and also at this stage neither had won so they would not have had much say in the end result. This must be their first exposure to doing a music video too. Still love ya Guy
