I think they separate the really worst and the best, supposedly its entertaining watching people humiliate themselves on tv.

But she was good and deserved to make it through. The contestants grow throughout the show and at 16 maybe she doesn't know her self enough yet. I thought it an unfair comment even if she did come over a bit cocky. But they feed you want they want you to see don't they. I wish with the bad contestants they would just say no and next. I get fed up seeing the terrible thinking they are great.

Mo I know exactly wat ur saying, all im saying is that they should've had enough human decentcy to at least wait until the performance (or annoyance in some cases) were over before they told them how bad they are. Its just so rude to laugh when someone is ptting themselves out there and giving something a go. [qoute]I'm amazed the contestants manage to carry on singing when it's going on. ditto[/quote] I guess your right maggie if they've got the guts to get up there at least give 'em a fair go.

Maggie the same was done on oz idol to the bad contestants. And in my opinion the american contestants would need a rocket up there jacksy to convince them they were not good enough. Hardly any of them walked away saying oh well I guess I am not good enough, thats my dream shattered. They all seemed even more determined to make a go of it. Surely if someones dream is to sing and obviously they can't sing then they do need to be told "nope your hopeless". It is not a dream that is achievable if you do not have a good voice. No amount of voice training is going to work. Best advice is if you want to be famous find another way to achieve that dream, but no don't give up.

Watched the first idol show tonight. I am so amazed at the americans total confidence in theirselves even the ones that were awful were so self believing. Is that a national thing do you think or just the type of people that will audition for idol. The other thing that amazed me is how much air time they gave to the worst performances. We only got to see a few of the people who actually went through. The rest was all the weird people, the bad singers and controversy with the judges. It would have been nice to see some good voices in there. But they are entertaining in a strange way.

I have to say after watching him these last few weeks I think he has been on the money with every judgement he has made. The only thing I hate is when he goes for shock value and adds some nasty little jibe. Like your voice is ugly or you look like miss rodeo girl or a thousand more I can't think of right now. But his initial reaction is usually spot on, and I have to agree with what he says. Looks like they could do with some of our rejects from our first idol show. I thought the standard was pretty low I am amazed that they got enough in the end I think there is probably only going to be 2 really good voices in there My pick so far is Fantasia.

I don't think he is harsh just stupid. He could take on Mark Holden for dumb comments. Something about a girl in a rodeo this week and a comment to Paula about she used to be nice. What is all that about,he should stick to constructive critiscm and leave off the catty comments. Is he trying to live up to some overblown image?

Simon Cowell gets more annoying each week. Sometimes he says stuff that is just so right but then he adds some flippant comment(ratings, ratings) and I want to bop him one.

Looking forward to seeing catty cowell in action. I know one of the other judges is Paula Abdul but who are the others or other? Is it 3 or 4 judges in U.S?

Yep that is where I saw it too swizel. Apparently out of the previous 4 batchelor shows none of the couples have stayed together. I can't think of anything worse than having to compete with all those other girls for a man..........seems a bit sick really. But hey I watched it ;D

Don't read this if you don't want to know who Bob the batch is gonna pick.
Estella And they have already broken up. Seems like my 10yrold was right with estella saying he was not the guy she thought he was. Apparently he is some kind of singer/musician and was on batchelor to kickstart his career. Miss Estella looked like she had plenty of dosh so maybe the attraction was that. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Lucky escape for all the rejects I'd say.

What do you think of Bob on the batchelor right now Slurpee. I can't work out what all those girls see in him. My 10yr old son said he is a pig 'cos he is kissing all those girls. Which is what I was thinking as well. Who do you think he will pick?
