Darling Gurl, Wow. I don't know what to say sweetie. I LOVE YOU TOO!! Thank you so much. I woke up this morning with SO much on my mind. SO many things to do that I am behind on due to circumstances. Your words have lightened my heart so much. Driven me to tears really. Yes, erm....the patience thingy! (And being stubborn. You forgot that one! My two REALLY REALLY BAD HUMAN CHARACTERISTICS! The other ones are just minor ones!! HeHe!) Yikes! I am working on that!! AHAHAHAHA! Learning to NOT make emotional choices but to, instead, make faith-choices. GIVE IT TO THE LORD! Believe that He will handle it. It is so bizarre. I have recently just learned HOW to TRULY TRULY do this...not just say "GIVE IT TO THE LORD"....but to actually do it!! WALK THE WALK, REG! WOW!! And wonders NEVER cease....it works!! And quickly!! So no more worrying for me. Cus that's what ya do when you DON'T make faith-choices and have faith-ways...you just WORRY about everything. And, I tell you...the calmness that has invaded my heart, soul and spirit has been nothing short of amazing. I have new "eyes". So, La La, yep, calmer...but still wacky and annoying!! NO DOUBT!! Hey, I am a Yank! My journey, wow! Just unreal. How awesome that I have recently come to understand, feel, perceive and ACCEPT the wonders of AGAPE into my soul. It is all so clear now. What a struggle..due to my own stubborness ("No Lord, I am sure that I am feeling THIS." Pffffttt! What a moron I am!!). Oh well, part of the journey! Holy Spirit? Well, IT never gave up! But, for me just immense JOY and DESPAIR over that lesson. Eek! But here I sit...happy in my stronger soul and heart. Joyous, even thru hard times. Happy. WOW. Thanks, babe for being there. You probably don't realize how much you have helped out. Introducing me to phone church! YAH! Taking me to see Pastor A.E.! Yep, mint! His words are seared into my brain! I love you for that..always and truly. PROJECT STARFISH!!! Well, I think a dose of stubborness and impatience is still in order here!! AHAHAHAHA! Just kidding! I have said from the beginning..to EVERYONE... "GOD IS ON MY SHOULDER WITH PROJECT STARFISH." I still feel the same way. Too many things, good things, have happened. It has been a struggle...for sure. But I KNOW that GOD is ALWAYS ON TIME! So I worry not re this Project. WHATEVER comes our way....WE WILL HANDLE IT. With GOD'S GRACE. With GOD'S GRACE. And a little La La Gurl helping to lead the charge!!! Well, La La....I love you and YES..I am always there for you. Even when you are making fun of me and my oldness. Hey, let me tell you something lil gurl...."YOU WILL WANT TO BE AS FLY AND COOL AS ME WHEN YOU ARE MY AGE!!!" I am REG and I am DA BOMB!!! Anywho..... Right-e-o!! I am so looking forward to your visit...taking you around, dressing you up , cookin for ya, just basically looking after you! Can't wait. Sorry...but we ARE gonna do some touristy stuff! Bridge, Opera House, Bondi...etc. Okay, darling, I am off to try to do some work today! Fingers crossed. I will call you tonight for sure. Sorry have just been tired over the last coupla days. Really tired. So I am trying to pace myself. And WE all know THAT is gonna be a hard task for a chick that is used to waking at 4am to start her day!! Oh well, that's what life is alllllll about....CHANGE and LOVE and FRIENDSHIP! You, Chikky...ARE MY FRIEND/DAUGHTER. I love you immensely, without bounds, without need of return, and forever. Peace and Love, Reggie ps did you see how GUY has NOW copied ANOTHER one of my trademarks? "Peace and Love"!!! Pfffttttt! Does he never stop copying all things Reggie (fro, mint slice shake, sunnies inside on da vid, me and Nay Nay's dance move. wow!)??!!! Seriously, I've been writin dat since before he was born!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HeHe!!! GUY wants ta be loike Reggie! Well, since it is GUY...well it's okay! He just wants to be cool loike me! Just loike ALL da young kids! YOU know how dat is!! HeHe! AND, we won't even TALK about da rootbeer thingy (how American, btw!)! Pffttttt! Wonder if he does a rootbeer float as well? Hmmmm..... AHAHAHAHAHA!! *ducks for cover*

BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON SRI LANKA (info from the Samaritan's Children's home website)
Geography: An island in the Indian Ocean off the southeast tip of India, Sri Lanka is about half the size of Alabama. Most of the land is flat and rolling; mountains in the south-central region rise over 8,000 ft (2,438m).
Area: 25,332 sq mi (65,610 sq km).
Population: (2004est.): 19,905,165
Growth rate: 0.8%, birth rate: 15.9/1000; infant mortality rate 14.8/1000; life expectancy: 72.9; density per sq mi:786
Languages: Sinhala 74% (official and national), Tamil 18% (national), other 8%; English is commonly used in government and is widely spoken.
Ethnicity: Sinhalese 74%, Tamil 18%, Moor 7%, Burgher, Malay, and Vedda 1%.
Religions: Buddhist 70%, Hindu 15%, Christian 8%, Islam 7%.
PRE-TSUNAMI SITUATION
The civil war between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and the Government of Sri Lanka has resulted in the death of over 60,000 people. Approximately 800,000 people, one-third of whom are children, have been displaced, sometimes many times. Of the 2.5 million people living in the areas directly affected by conflict, approximately 1 million are children under the age of 18.
The commencement of peace negotiations has given rise to new challenges and opportunities on the humanitarian front. Humanitarian access has increased to all areas in the conflict-affected North and East, except the high security zones.
Over 183,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDP's) have returned to their places of origin and large-scale movements of people are expected throughout 2005. More than 1,000 refugees returned from India and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees predicts that more will return before the end of 2005.
Returning children are especially vulnerable. UNICEF estimates that in the LTTE-controlled areas of the north, one third of school-aged children have dropped out or have never attended school. The IDPs and refugees are moving back to areas that are contaminated with landmines and unexploded ordinance. The physical destruction of these areas means that they are returning to towns and villages that lack basic infrastructure, such as shelter, water and sanitation, education and health facilities.
In terms of health, the North and the East suffer from a shortage of health professionals and medical supplies. Communicable and infectious diseases are expected to increase with the return of the IDPs, as is the risk of HIV/AIDS with the return of refugees from India. Chronic malnutrition among women and children is high in parts of Sri Lanka, but is worse among returning IDPs.
POST-TSUNAMI SITUATION
According to the international news agency Reuters, 22,493 people were killed and 800,000 affected in Sri Lanka by the tsunami. As bodies are either extricated from debris or washed ashore, the death toll keeps rising rapidly. Also, over a million people (5% of the population) have been rendered homeless.
Statistics for Navalady (Navalady, where the orphanage was situated in the Province of Batticaloa) according to the local Grama Sevaka (the village council)
Population prior to tsunami: 1890 Deaths: 683 including 125 children Children orphaned by tsunami:
Full orphans: 18 (lost both parents)
Semi orphans: 93 (children who lost one parent)
It is believed that over 4,000 children have been orphaned in Sri Lanka (full or semi).
*********************************************
IF YOU WOULD LIKE FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE HISTORY OR POLITICAL/ECONOMIC SITUATION OF SRI LANKA, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PM ME.
Peace,
Regina

Hello,
Thank you everyone....for your patience as we move ahead with Project Starfish.
AG will be posting information soon regarding the meeting in Melbourne. So watch this space!
I would, personally, like to thank OG Sheenia for finding Mr. Bebel. Mr. Bebel, and his company, so graciously designed the website, and will be maintaining it for a very small monthly fee.
Please, everyone remember to say your prayers of thanks for this wonderfully generous man.
Peace,
Regina

Please PM AG, SoC, Nanouk, Midz or myself regarding any agenda suggestions that you may have (see AG post above).
I wrote the following in another post awhile ago. I leave these words here again for everyone:
"I KNOW THE ONE THING THAT WE DID RIGHT, WAS THE DAY WE STARTED TO FIGHT. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE. OH LORD."
OUR PRIZE? THE CHILDREN!
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND BRING YOU JOY, PEACE AND HAPPINESS. WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY!
