I happened to watch some of popstars tonight, just when the the record producer guy was making comments about Arnott's weight. What does everyone think? should a persons looks, weight or height for that matter affect whether they become famous? do we really care if they don't fit the mould of what society deems as "beautiful"?.

You know what really intreaged me was NZ Idol almost all the male singers are what most would consider overweight. Man those guys can move and sing. I don't think it matters, but hey I love all kinds of music and all kinds of artists. I hope Arnott does well and that if he does lose weight he does it for his health and himself not other people. I hope he gets the opportunity to see the NZ Idol guys and that we Ozzies take a leaf out of there book and look at the talent and not the what is good to look at. I must say that biscuit has a really sweet and appealing way about him. Anyway thats my thoughts

hey
I really don't think it should matter if u are overweight, under weight, tall or short to be famous.
We don't get popstars ova hea in NZ.
Take a look at all our artists ova hea. They all varie in weight and height and that to us looks don't matter, just as long as u've got the talent.
I think that, they rather have beautiful ppl cos they knw that they will be able to sell their albums even if they have no talent, jst as lng as they look good.

Popstars is shyte. It doesn't matter how much a person weighs for pete's sake. Pfft, I thought we were all over that by now Someone once told me a long time ago, that Katie Noonan from george (voice of an angel - my favourite vocalist) tried out for the first Popstars show, but got knocked back because of her weight. Basically the judges loved her voice, but not her size. Now I don't know if that is true or not, I hope to god it's not. It was just some rumour I heard. But if it is true - those judges are so DUMB. How could they let HER walk away? Good thing they did though, I couldn't really picture her being in Bardot. *shudder*
