The judges gave him pretty good comments over all
The British judge loved his performance and said “that performance might win you the whole competition young manâ€
The Polish judge loved it and seemed blown away and said, “that was great – Amazing. The highest compliment a polish judge can give is to invite the contestant for a drink of vodka†then he held up two little bottles of vodka. And Guy said thanks man.
The canadian judge said he didn’t like his arrangement but he bought into it – and its like from downunder Memphis (meaning he sang like soul singers in America even though he’s Australian. And he still enjoyed him too even though he didn't favor the arrangement)
We didn’t get to see Simon’s comments to Guy in America like other countries. But I heard he said he liked his singing and his voice was the best so far. And also said he might win. But Guy is odd looking to him, but maybe thats a good thing. I think thats pretty much what he said.
Personally I disagree with the canadian judge. I like the arrangement even though it’s not like the original (I find the original a bit slow, boring and jazzy) “Wonderful world†is actually my most favorite Guy song. It showcases his voice beautifully too. I voted for Guy. He was my most favorite.

(along with his obligatory snide comment about the World Cup! : I'm not sure what you mean about Simon giving a comparison of Guy to someone, but after Kelly performed he said that she was a racehorse and everyone else were donkeys, so I guess Guy was included in that! Thats the only comparison I can think of. They also showed Dickos comment (Australian judge), and he just said how proud he was to have Guy representing us, and then threw in a nice "Go the Fro".

I think maybe the comparison they meant was when Simon told Heinz from South Africa, that he didnt have the natural charisma like the Australian Guy..

During the recording of the show Guy sang last or second last but this was rearranged later. Simon said Guy was the best voice so far which included Kelly. However Guy's position was rearranged to second, as it was shown in many countries (not here in Aust, he sang near the end) it was a wasted comment as only Alexander preceded him. Kelly's compliments of racehorses and donkeys was made before Guy sang but again the rearrangement included him in the donkey class.

>:(Really! I cant believe it... So when they said they're all Donkeys and your a racehorse to Kelly, simon said Guy was a donkey! How can that be...... Are u sure Guy was 2nd to sing. Because it seems weird that Simon would say 'you have the best voice in this competition' if Alexander was the only one he'd heard. It just doesnt sound right. And if it is, its funny how different countries represent the show. Like in Aus it looked as if all the judges loved him, then in other countries they called him a donkey!!! Im not too happy about that

>: Are u sure Guy was 2nd to sing. Because it seems weird that Simon would say 'you have the best voice in this competition' if Alexander was the only one he'd heard. It just doesnt sound right. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my writing - When the show was recorded (including the judges comments) Guy was last or second last. But when it was shown on TV Guy appeared second in many countries, making Simon's comments of the "best voice so far'" ridiculous as only Alexander had sung when in reality nearly all contestants had sung. The rearrangement also affected the donkey and racehorse comment as in reality Kelly sang before Guy so therefore he wasn't in the equation at that point. I hope that is a little clearer.

I think Guy actually went about 5th when they recorded. I am guessing that they went in the order they were introduced in at the very start. The order remained the same in the Aussie show, except for Peter and Guy who swapped. I really don't get why in countries like America Guy went 2nd. Obviously on the Aussie version they wanted to put Guy near the end so people wouldn't turn off right after Guy was done and miss half of it. Although I'd prefer if they'd just left it as was, at least that makes sense. But Guy going 2nd in America...what point did that serve?

I feel like maybe you are all generalising simons comment far too much "its like what weve seen today, and you, donkeys to a racehorse" this statement is true for everyone but Guy and Simon certainly came across when judging Guy as if he thought he was up there with the best

ah... thanx alot guys!
alot of revelation..first
the only comments i saw was frm the canadian guy talkin abt "down under memphis" and the british guy said..he cld be the dark horse winning this.
they never showed anyone else..
and yeah..later simon made a comparison to sumone (issit heinz?) saying that heinz didnt have the charisma like 'that australian guy had'
and he performed 2nd..so..no comments frm simon sayin he was one of the best.. and the polish guy toasting to him.
i mean..that was WOW..THATS BIG compliment coz the polish judge was the biggest ass there.. ;D
and whatever simon said abt kelly and racehorses.. i dont take that to heart becoz..simon will definetely praise his 'lil money-makin baby'

Kelly's compliments of racehorses and donkeys was made before Guy sang but again the rearrangement included him in the donkey class. I read an article that was printed before world Idol and it said that Guy was being allocated the last spot and would sing last. I don't know if they changed it, but I know he couldn't have performed second like they showed us in America though. Because Guy himself said it was a blood birth before he sang and the judges were trashing the others. And Simon saying his voice was the best he's heard so far shows he must have sang later. (which would have gotten Guy more votes in America if they showed Simon's comment) But they edited him to perform second here and almost a million people who tuned in later missed his performance since it was so early. But Kurt got to sing last here though (a good spot to have) And Diana, Kelly and Will preceeded Kurt. Personally I think they're just trying to manipulate the whole thing with all the editing and stuff. I don't totally buy into the results either, but whatever. Guy and others got more fans from around the world from it. So it served its purpose.

They also showed Dickos comment (Australian judge), and he just said how proud he was to have Guy representing us, and then threw in a nice "Go the Fro". Oh yeah Dicko said that and also, said Guy is the best voice is seen come along in a long time. I think he called him a phenominal talent too. I don't think they showed him saying 'go the fro' in USA. They did show Simon telling Heinz he didn't have charisma like Guy. Which actually made some people here assume Simon only saw Guy as charismatic and probably didn't care for his voice or performance, since they did not show his direct comment to Guy about loving his voice (and Simon's opinion is known to influence how a lot of people vote) I thought it was weird Simon didn't say anything to Guy too - but I could tell from his expression he liked him though. I'm not influenced by Simon anyway. I knew Guy was my most favorite. They should have showed every country the same things instead of all the different editing which just seems manipulative.

Thats so damn true, they should have showed it as it came... Anyway i think World Idol has gone as quickly as it came. No one really gives a crap about it now, the World Idols are doing it on their own gaining their own popularity by their music and not by the worlds 'votes' or the judges 'comments'. Guy is still as popular as ever, even more so than when he won. Everyone knows a huge talent when they see it, and he's going to be around for a long time....
