Hey!!
With all of the recent posts regarding Guy's album being a new release in the US by BMG International (see the Billboard site) I just thought that it would be great if his international fans started to be more vocal in their support...to help album sales, radio play etc.
Personally, I am gonna start calling radio stations that play Guy's type of music, as well as put calls into records stores asking is his album stocked there.
If you have any suggestions leave them here for all to see!!

I know some who've been giving Just As I Am to their relos for presents, but seeing as it's an import, that could get too expensive... I vote for playing JAIM or singing songs from it in public-ish areas . And Reggie1, you rock! (did you try the 'lost password' trick for registering?)

I don't like guy's music I hated his last cd it was boring. well, thank goodness we all have a choice in life. it would be dull and boring if we all liked the same thing. i am more of an r&b fan than pop/rock. when i heard this guy bridge all 3 and sing a julie andrews number that brought tears to the crowd, this guy is brilliant. "happy days"

Astro.... I recon when he sang that julie andrews song he mucked up a number of notes.
If i was him i wouldn't try to sing that again he didn't get the high notes right.
I am not trying to knock him to much but i gotta tell it as i hear it.
We must not get carried away with all the t.v. hype.
The best way to mark a singers voice is to listen to the music but not watch the performer
Cause i believe Guy is a very good performer but a average singer.

yep, i picked up on that too... however, he turned it around and the audience forgave him. showing off ones versatility can come at a price but hell, i think he made up for it.
i can understand your comment too on him being average and that's only in comparison to paulini who is a powerhouse.
at the end of the day, his album may not be the best but 6 days is alot to ask for a first. if this is as bad as it gets for guy, given the timeframe, etc he can only get better.

the easiest and cost effective solution?
do what you're doing here but on other forums.
build a project plan, define your objectives, inclusions and deliverables.
the project : guy sebastian awareness
the objectives : sell guy sebastian past, present and the fact that he's got the music (build on his songs types depending on which country, pop, rock, r&b, etc)
inclusions : guy fan websites, guys music available online, factual guy material, (links to media clippings, music sites like aus idol, etc )
deliverables: threads on every forum around the globe. you may have have to recruit some of australias multi-linguals to assist with the language.
you may need some sales assistance in posting threads which will attract attention but "kurt, is he really a hobbitt", worked for his fans and got my vote.
this is a phenominal task you're taking on and guy and his fans would be proud. they pay marketing companies millions for doing this. outside of this you can try and obtain global email addresses of every radio station around the globe and formulate another plan to spam them with requests for guy's music. the cost is zero but a lot of time spent in sourcing, formulating and executing.
there are a few more half-baked ideas but they will cost money. this is a challenging exercise which not many know how to do but if you pull it off, it's one hell of a resume your gonna have. good luck.

Thanks Astro!!
Wow...some really great ideas. Am definitely gonna do some of them. WIll try to start some threads here on the American music sites. And getting email addresses...shouldn't be too hard. That's a fantasitc idea as well.
I've been throwing his name around to some of my DJ friends here, as well!
I AM ON A MISSION!!
