The Canadian boards are being flooded with arrogant Yanks and Kelly boosters using some of these reports we've been getting to put down our Idol, Ryan.
I haven't seen that happen yet, but here is what I had to say. It might be of interest to you all.
"Look, we're all speculating on reports here. I doubt that ANY of you were ever at the taping, so how can you judge performance WHEN YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN IT YET?! We are all getting second-hand information from more than likely biased sources. Everyone has their biases, and it's natural that they are reflected in reports. So if some Brit guy who doesn't like Ryan or some Australian who despises Kelly writes their report, they're bound to reflect that! And of course we all know how notoriously wrong some of the judges are...that should be Lesson 1 when it comes to Idol.
So don't put down other Idols just because some reports say they suck. That's just being arrogant and annoying. Let's wait until it is shown, then make our own decisions. We're letting speculation and biased reports get the better of us, and reducing us to squabbling over trivial matters. Hey, who knows? Some of the people who, according to these reports, gave the worst performances could actually turn out to be the best! So make up your own mind when you've seen it.
Personally, I'm for Ryan regardless. Now, would anyone else here be supportive of their Idol if they were bound to lose? (Especially you Kelly fans: would you still be Kelly fans if you knew Guy was gonna win? Or maybe if Will was a sure bet? Would you still be so keen on Kelly, or would you be breaking out the "I (Heart) U WILL" banners?)"
I do hope that some of these reports are false and that Ryan did fine...and you Australians have been so civil about the flood of reports. Once again, good on ya all!
