It's wrong.
The thing about Guy is that when his 15 minutes of reality TV show fame is over, then his real fame and music career can start. Unlike other TV show contestants, he has real talent- sure it was held back a bit by the rushed process of Aust. Idol but the possible overexposure of AI will fade, and the real work will begin.

Yeah right. Ok.
Like, Kelly Clarkeson faded into the background didn't she.
Talent is talent regardless of it's humble beginnings.
I would agree with the sentiment of the article if it had been Shannon, or Millsie, but not Guy.

Why write an article about it if he can't stand it so much? Just creates yet another article about it, even though he is talking crap If he's that nuts about it then he should just ignore it all, jeesh...

Who was the gay guy from Big Brother? And what was the name of the chick with the bum dance? What was the name of the Popstars group that came after Bardot?Johnnie (or Jamie, depending on which year they're talking about), Sara-Marie and Scandal'us...too easy, I still remember them, especially the last group and they had nooooooooo talent. And who the hell wrote the article? At least have the balls to put your name down on an article like that, doodle-wank! I say, BRING ON CHERUB SEASON!!!

Snnnnaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrl. Ironic isn't it. A tragically bad reporter trying to touch people by stating the obvious facts we are all too aware of when it comes to reality TV while she/he desperately tries to reach a point that can't be reached. It's really quite apparent that she/he is desperately trying to get noticed by discussing the hottest topic to hit headlines in a while musically. Sad when you have try and catch the wave on a uniquely talented man to get your story published. Yes, we do remember the answers to your question (makes you a little out of touch), yeah yeah blah de blah about your dull poorly written report on reality TV. Write about something a high school student couldn't buddy! As a reporter (if that’s what they are) you would hope that ones observational and investigative prowess was better than this out of touch fuddy duddy’s. To not, after claiming to have watched the show, appreciate that what we finally have, is an extraordinarily gifted artist who won with his talent is simply to great an oversight to forgive. You also might want to re think wishing the most popular man of the moment would ‘die’ too, what an offensive, bitter and inappropriate thing to say, in fact while your at it you may want to re think your career. PS. No-one gives a damn about your opinion, keep it to yourself!

I'll take a stab in the dark here and suggest this reporter is probably the kind of person who easily suffers bouts of road rage. Note the extent to which his/her co-workers go to prevent him/her from getting in a rage. Now, let's be mature and acknowledge it's that reporter's individual reposibility to manage his/her own rage - but, no, he/she has his/her co-workers feeling responsible for it.
I'll take another stab in the dark and suggest that while this reporter indicated a reluctance to take part in the Idol craze due to his/her (admittedly healthy) disrespect for the fake glamour of reality television, and his/her acknowledgement of Guy as someone with talent - maybe he/she leaned more to Shannon's direction?
In hindsight, 'stab in the dark' is probably not the best phrase to use considering this reporter's repeatedly mentioned urges to kill.
I'm not too fussed about this reporter's comments for 3 reasons:
1) generally (not specific to Guy) he/she is right - instant, causeless celebrities abound these days. In many of them I don't find anything that much greater than the norm that needs to be celebrated. (repeat, I am not thinking of Guy when I say the above).
2) as noted in his/her very last comments: "So when I say Guy Sebastian must die, it really is nothing personal.
It's the voracious beast of the mass market and the precarious nature of 21st century fame that will kill him. That is, unless he really does have something. . " ...Guy really does have something - talent, love for the subject of his talent, a desire to share his love for music with others, generally a lovely bloke. So I don't see his popularity fading anytime soon.
3) In a way I'd be glad if he lost a bit of the 'teeny-bopper' popularity because I enjoy his music so much as he is now that I don't want to witness him becoming jaded. {sugary spiritual moment} Sometimes the more difficult path provides the most rewarding experiences.

I thought that was really harsh of the reporter to say that Guy should "die". What a low life

all publicitiy is good publicity. Guy differs from the Big Brother contestents in one important way- he actually has musical talent and therefore something to continue on with apart from being a celebrity from a defunct reality TV show.

i read that in the green guide the other day... but i realise that the reporter didnt mean it as an attack. its like the reporter was having his doubts at how successful guy will become. he had some valid points. but australian idol as a whole has been a totally different brand of reality tv show. australian idol guarantees the winner a place out there for them it has to do with real talent. i never got into the popstars hype. if you could dance you were in. that's not much music talent. that's performing talent. i guess the reporter is also worried about guy loosing himself to the money that will eventually come and the fame that is still growing and will continue to grow for a while now. but then looking at kelly and will... i dont think we need to fear guy loosing his personality. guy's pretty grounded ;D

I thought that was really harsh of the reporter to say that Guy should "die". What a low life the clever dick and meathead successfully managed to accomplish his mission which was to get our attention. using "guy must die" did it and frankly it's what struggling bottom feeders do to survive in the industry. this type of journalism exists for those who don't have an original thought in their heads. cashing in on guy sebastian already... please crawl back undet the rock came from.
