If he is singing 'what a wonderful world' then why did they announce on the news that Guy is favourite to win now that Simon Fuller chose 'climb every mountain' for him to sing. I'm so confused. Are we certain of what he is singing? Even if he doesn't win, I don't think it will be a fair competition simply because they only get to sing 1 song each. How is anyone going to really get a feel for the level of talent Guy possesses when they only hear one song? I love Guy's voice, its hypnotic, and he is such an awesome person too , he's a winner regardless of what happens at world in my eyes.

I keep reading and hearing its "Climb Every Mountain" but next minute it's "What A Wonderful World" and then its "Climb Every Mountain" again. What IS he singing? And as "hypnotic"...........that is THE word I've been looking for to describe Guy's voice. Perfect!

What IS he singing? The WI contestants will be singing three songs each. Guy's choices are "What A Wonderful World", "Climb Every Mountain" and "Angels Brought Me Here". If he finishes off with Angels it will be quite a finale! So pleased to hear he'll be able to rest for the next 2 days before his big trip.........what a Guy! everyone in our family love him and wish him the absolute best. God Bless you Guy!

My understanding was that they have given 3 song choices to Simon Fuller. They will perform them for him when they go on Saturday (my birthday btw) and Simon will choose then which one.
I know two of them are Climb Every Mountain and Wonderful World. Perhaps that is where the confusion is coming from?

I'm really disappointed and have no idea why he ended up choosing that song when 'When Doves Cry, 'When I Get You Alone' and 'Climb Every Mountain' were clearly much better choices. 'W /quote I disagree, although I definitely would have preferred Climb Every Mountain. Wonderful World is still an awesome song choice. I'm glad the producers picked that over When I Get You Alone, cos that definitely would have been a bad choice. Don't get me wrong, he does it well but I don't know if the rest of the world would be prepared to hear that. Oh and if Guy was to sing CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN the world wouldnt think he was boyband material, cos I can tell you. Most members of boyfriends wouldn't be able to sing that song.

His song choices were Climb Every Mountain, Wonderful World and When I Get You Alone. I'm pretty sure it's Wonderful World. Apparently Guy has said that's the one he's singing?

What IS he singing? The WI contestants will be singing three songs each. SORRY! I got it wrong - wishful thinking I guess. As you all know now, our Guy will be singing only one song, "What a Wonderful World". One thing's for sure; he'll be singing straight from the heart and will pleasantly surprise many people across the globe. They're gonna love him no matter what [glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]

www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,8155610%255E2902,00.html Guy's cool about title By LEISHA PETRYS 14dec03 WITH two days until Guy Sebastian takes centre stage at World Idol, the Australian pop star says he could not care less about winning. But the 22 year old is looking forward to the experience and touring London with Australian Idol judge Ian Dickson, who will be on the international jury. "I sort of haven't stopped for quite a few months with this whole thing and it's a bit daunting for me to look at it as a competition," he said. Sebastian, of Adelaide, will "sing off" against Idol winners from 10 countries, including the US, South Africa, Germany and Lebanon, for the title of World Idol. He wants to see how the other winners, most of whom also have been plucked from obscurity, have been affected by their new-found fame. "To me, it's just an awesome opportunity to meet people who went through the same things I went through, to share that with them, and see how they've grown," Sebastian said. He left Australia for London on Friday. The program will not be broadcast until Boxing Day, when the telephone voting lines will open. The World Idol winner will be announced in January. Internet sites rank Sebastian in third place, behind America's Kelly Clarkson and Britain's Will Young. TEXT "I will sing Wonderful World. We're allowed only one song," Sebastian said. TEXT"It kind of sucks a little bit because Idol is all about a journey, so you can show people different styles. "You can sing a fast song, and then really connect with them with a ballad and pull on the heart strings." Sebastian is glad Australia's "tough" judge Dickson will be present. "I don't think he's going to drill his fellow countryman," he laughed. "But you never know." Before the London trip, Sebastian travelled Australia to promote his debut album, Just as I Am Sebastian is looking forward to returning home for Christmas and to realising a dream. "I am singing at the (Sidney) Myer Music Bowl Carols, (on Christmas Eve) -- something I've wanted to do all my life. "My family will be in Melbourne to see it." There you go! What A Wonderful World it is.

I totally loved CEM, however, I did hear Christina sing it the other day and feel that perhaps Guy should chose another one as his version, although better than Christina's, is very similar. The Americans might be *like, herlo, we've seen this * So, although I thought CEM would be great for him and was disappointed he wasn't going to sing it, I think perhaps a funky number that show his 'moves' would be better... * lerve those moves Guy * As for the song choice, who knows Way too many conspiracy theories around this one.

Guy is DEFINITELY doing What A Wonderful World.
In the last week, he's announced it on the Channel 10 news as well as various newspaper articles and his interview with Kyle and Jackie-O on the Hot 30.
He says it suits the holiday theme and he wanted to be different from the other World Idol contestants as they're all doing ballads.
I want him to do Can't Take My Eyes Off You! Funky, fun, allows him to perform and do a little dance (make a little love, get down tonight... LOL) but at the same time, show off his voice. Where he takes it to at the end... WOW. Great stuff.
But I'm sure he'll do a good job with What A Wonderful World.

Oh No!! If he is in fact doing What a wonderful world, I really hope he doesn't overdo his vocal acrobatics. I actually enjoy them a lot, but there r quite a few people (Dicko, Pinkline) who don't enjoy them. I recall that this was the very first song Dicko started to comment about the acrobratics and giving "respect to the melody". I wish Guy the best of luck! If he doesn't overdo the vocal acrobatics, he'll kick every1's arse!!
