I wish he hadn't chosen 'Climb every mountain' as his song. It was alright for us because we knew what he was about on the show and had heard him sing heaps of other songs, but WI viewers won't know he can sing heaps of different styles, and might think he's just a ballad boy band type. :(I think he should have chosen a faster song. It definitely doesn't show off his voice as well as some others. Hope it makes sense, i tried to process my thoughts into words, but when i try to do this normally it all comes out in a jumble. Feel free to post if you feel the same of differently.

I think it was a great choice for Guy because while Guy fans have a massive list of his favourite performances, you'll find that it was Climb Every Mountain that caught the eye of most people who didn't even support Guy. So when performing in front of all the countries, you really need a song that'll stand out and get attention.

When he opens his mouth and sings they will know what he is about for sure. What ever he sings it will be good as long as he gets a rest between now and then and a good business class seat for the long journey to London. 23 hrs it takes.

YAY!!!!! Guy just announced on hot30 that he will be singing 'what a wonderful world'!!!!!! I think he'll do much better with this song. ;D There goes Guy's chances of winning. I really didn't like his rendition of this song and the main problem is, I don't think this song has enough impact to like 'WOW' the audience. I'm really disappointed and have no idea why he ended up choosing that song when 'When Doves Cry, 'When I Get You Alone' and 'Climb Every Mountain' were clearly much better choices. 'What A Wonderful World' is NOT the type of song you would want to sing when you're competing with all those World Idol contestants, they're tough competition and you would want to do anything to stand out/shine above the rest, but unfortunately this song will definitely not do it - despite what a beautiful voice Guy has. It's not him - IT'S THE DAMN SONG CHOICE. He has the best position too in the competition (last), so he could have made a huge lasting impression. I'm sure he will still make a good impression, but the song definitely will not to showcase 100% of Guy's potential. I hope I'm wrong though, because I adore Guy =\

It shows his interpetation skills, but not his wonderful voice. I think Climb Every Mountain was a winner. Even 'Hello' was a crowd pleaser.

k, i agree partly. i definitley think he should have done a faster song, like when i get you alone, when doves cry or hello. but what a wonderful world he arranged himself, and also it's better than him doing a ballad, even climb every mountain.

I heard the song choice wasn't up to Guy. Simon Fuller was presented with 3 songs and he chose this one. I could be wrong but I read this somewhere. Don't blame Guy, blame Fuller ;D

Guy said that he's doing 'What A Wonderful World' because most of the other World Idol contestants will be singing ballads and he wanted to stand out and do something fitting for the holiday season.
It's not the best choice in the world.
Personally, I would've gone with 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You' - it's fun and allows him to really show off his performance skills, but at the same time, challenges his voice (especially towards the end). I would've been happy with either 'Everything I Do (I Do It For You)' or 'The Way You Look Tonight' as well... or 'Climb Every Mountain' if he is able to nail that 'rainbow' note that he completely buggered last time. People who only get the chance to hear him once won't forgive him a nasty note.

Apparently he's going to sing 'Climb Every Mountain' instead of 'What A Wonderful World' now.
*sigh*
I don't know what to believe these days, but I've read it in an article. Either the article has got its facts wrong or Guy/Simon Fuller have changed their minds.

I think the only way to be sure is............. to wait for the actual night.
Personally, I think he's hiding something, and is going to sing 'When doves cry' because............ i want him to ;D
