Take it from me, Mark knows what he did was wrong and it has really upset him, and alot of other people too both on and off the set. He is well aware of the backlash against him from the general public and the angar that he is getting. The comments at Levi were totally inappropriate and he said them at the wrong moment. He mean't no malice. He just didn't think it through and out it came! It was something he should have said to Levi in private if he felt that concerned. He is suffering over it, boy BIG TIME, as some people think he deserves to be, but the poor guy needs a break as it is dragging on and on! He knows it's tarnished his reputation on the show with all the contestants and his fellow workers and he feels just rotten. He doesn't expect your sympathy because that is not what he's there for, but he hopes that it'll settle down. He and the other judges want the focus to be on the contestants and to shift from his mistakes. You get nervous on air and sometimes slip up's do happen and even BIG ones like last Mondays! Talk to the contestants and they'll tell you the same thing. What a soap opera! So yeah, that's about it. Do with it as you will but we all fuck up. Levi has since been apologised to many times and he feels better about it.

Mark could have done a lot to reduce the backlash about this by using the opportunities given to him (ROVE, Inside Idol) to PUBLICLY apologise to Levi.
Instead he just made excuses and defended what he said. That makes him even less of a man (and even less worthy of a place on the show) in my opinion.
He deserves all this flack.

Mark is awesome and Guest i support Mark all the way. But yea i reacon he didnt mean it it just came out..
And leelee when he said those things he said it to Levi not the public so he shouldn't have to go and apologise it to the public..

Take it from you guest? Unless you ARE Mark Holden in disguise there claiming to know what he meant or how he feels, I don't have to take anything anyone says on behalf of him. Granted, we all fuck up, but when given the many chances, as Leelee stated, on Rove and Inside Idol, to apologise to Levi PUBLICLY. he didn't. Unless I've missed a segment where he plain and simply said 'Im sorry' - all I've seen him do so far is dance around Monday night's outburst, with more excuses.

If he really did feel bad for his verbal diarrhoea on Monday night, yes, the least he could have done was apologise. Admitting that it was wrong of him to have made such comments. For every action there is a reaction. He can be a man and take the negativity.

Well said LeeLee. But, obviously he is not a man, but a wimp! He had so many chances to apologise - and never did. All he did was trying to justify his "verbal diahhorea" from the other day. He is a low life. He should learn something from Ian Dickson about constructive criticism.

Look, we can all think whatever we like about Mr Holden's remarks to Levi. It's damaged Mark's reputation, probably irretrieveably. What's worse is that it's damaged the credibility of the show. A judge has come out and said that he lied to be nice to a contestant. I don't give a flying fig what Mark does to himself, but his comments have hurt the reputation of the show, and that's unforgiveable.

True about the shows rep and Marks rep taking a slide. Ian also made that comment to Mark himself on Inside Idol, that Mark's reputation was in 'tatters' now because of those comments and as you all know Mark told the camaras that bit of info. Then Ian said Mark hadn't done himself any flavors in the popuarity department either. 'He didn't need this in his life, he didn't need people walking around calling him an asshole,' Ian observed of his fellow judge. Ian is a caring old thing isn't he? It was nice that even though he was red hot furious with Mark (who was a real idiot that night), he was also concerned about Mark's life becoming a total mess from what was said (and it has become a mess!). Gooo Ian, keep the show sane. Good ratings though and great tele. Great to see something this entertaining and great to see it firing up so many people. This board is excellent!

Markisass, he was plucked out of obscurity to judge AI. Personally I think they should have left him there. As for - I wanna be mark's girl - I won't even bother to dignify your questions and statements with an answer - go back to fantasizing over the old guy.

Seems about time to let it go I reckon. Mark was wrong and behaved unprofessionally. He got caught up in his own drama and frankly gets hot headed. It was unnecessary to step on Levi to get his point across - but it seems Mr Holden likes drama and attention. He needs to forget about himself and concentrate on the judging. He's judging the contestants - not Australia. As for Levi - he has got a great voice if not for the pitch problems but I wonder, how hard it is to hear in the studio when the audience is cheering and shouting - would you be able to hear the band and start on the right key?...dunno - but Mark should have given his true opinion the night before as we all know. I think Ian wotsisname is probably the person that says it like it is - and I like that. Its a shame Mark Holden has opened himself up to ridicule and a real bugger that he made a contestant feel like shit when he was already down.
