JENNIFER
In the Kylie Minogue mould but shock-horror a far better singer.
Another thing she does which is different than Kylie is that she still speaks Australian and not with a faked British accent. Needs to learn that "My" is not pronounced "Ma" but aside from that piddling thing she sang very well and hers was one of the best performances of the night. 7/10
RYAN
Second up Mr Messy Hair and also responsible along with Martine for the worst fashion of the night. The sleeve cuffs were distracting as Messy Hair unleashed with a boring, karaoke standard, unremarkable version of the West Life (whoever the heck they are) smash non-hit. 5/10
MARTINE
The judges failed to pick up on Martine’s fashion mistake – she already had stringy blonde hair and this coupled with a top that resembled some sort of green box jellyfish did not do anything for aesthetics. However, her singing was a different matter- Martine sang the Roberta Flack number beautifully, tasteful and controlled. 7.5/10
ANTHONY
I wish I could just say that I was proud but I’d be telling a fib. Anthony’s singing was tinged with the Liberaces and on a couple of occasions was technically dubious. Overall he sang well but not good enough to include in the top four. 6/10
REBEKAH
The girl with a little Jennifer Lopez look started well with the Lauren Hill song and it was quite clear that she possesses an excellent voice – however by midway through the song it was sounding a bit perfunctory – could have been a bit more dramatic. Good performance. 6.5/10
SHANNAN
Firstly one fashion comment – lose the hairy growth on the face – might be a good look in Condoblin but not on national TV. Sang really well though. 7/10
YOLANDE
Can’t agree with Mark Holden that the girl is drop-dead gorgeous but she’s not bad. Nice voice and I couldn’t understand what was wrong with her doing the perfomance sitting down. 7/10
GUY
Looked like a cross between Lenny Kravitz and a Benny Hill impersonator. Overdid the vocal gymnastics slightly and Louis Armstrong might have done a few turns in his grave. Not bad but not that great either. 6/10
