Sebastian the Guy for a duet 14jun05 A GUY Sebastian duet with girlfriend Julie Egan may not be out of the question as Egan begins her fight to sign a recording contract. Egan expects to finish a demo tape this week, after which she plans to schmooze record company reps. Egan says she and Sebastian have joked about doing a duet, a la Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden. "We always joke about it, how corny would that be," she said. "But I don't know. He intimidates me too much. "He's too good even though we have sung together." Egan is adamant she won't coat-tail off Sebastian's success. www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,15602803%255E28957,00.html

Opinion Casey concert a beauty Issue 82 I went to Casey Donovan’s Revesby Concert (Sydney) and all I can say is wow, she was just too deadly for words. I was in awe of this beautiful 17-year-old Koori girl from Bankstown. If you get the chance to see her live, jump at it. Don’t miss the golden opportunity - she will not let you down. Casey come out rocking to the song Shine, then went on to sing ‘Till I Found You, Better To Love, Something beautiful, an original song she wrote called Stay and her album title For You. Next up she sang her soon to be released single Flow, can’t wait to see the video clip as this was filmed in Kakadu when she was up there with the Fred Hollows Foundation. She went into some of her classic Idol songs, Beautiful was first up, then went on to sing my favourite Idol song, Here’s Where I Stand. If that song didn’t bring the house down the next song surely did. Oh my God, I was totally blown away when she sang You’re So Vain. I thought the Idol version was great but the full version live on stage is an incredible experience. This song should be brought out as a single in my opinion. I don’t usually like remakes but Casey has made this song her own and she sings this song brilliantly. She finished her Idol songs with “Hello” and I can tell you she amazed me time after time. Casey walked the stage like she had been doing this for years. She made jokes with the audience. What a funny sense of humour - when she was about to sing Listen With your Heart she told the audience that she needed our help to get through the song so she wouldn’t forget the words. She finished the concert up with You Believed, A Million Tears and then What’s Going On. The concert was over way too soon but I can say that she is a great performer and I am so glad I had the opportunity to see her live. I would do this again in a heartbeat. I loved how she got the crowd rocking and was so relaxed and sang so beautifully. Only downfall of the night was there was no Casey merchandise - a T-shirt or a poster would have topped my night off and something for my niece who adores Casey and lives five hours from Sydney. I did ask if she would be going out to the regional country areas and her manager said that they were looking at that for the near future, so let’s hope some of you guys from the country can get to see just how great our Idol really is.
