Ex-Idol gets a deja-vu feeling June 7, 2005 A YEAR is a long time in pop music. Or is it? On the fence...Ricki-Lee. Ricki-Lee Coulter, who was turfed from last year's Australian Idol, admits to a sense of deja-vu while helping out at this year's Idol auditions. "I was really nervous and went straight back to that sick feeling you get in your guts," Ricki-Lee (who has dropped her surname for entertainment purposes) told music reporter Stephen Downie. Unlike some previous Idol wannabes Ricki-Lee has managed to keep herself in the public eye. First there was the role on Nine's Celebrity Circus, now the Gold Coast gal has a single, Hell No!, on the independent label Shock, to be released on June 13. Asked if she was disappointed not to get a deal with Idol main stable, Sony-BMG, she said: "Sony shmony. You're never promised anything. We did have talks [but] I'm with Shock now," she said. Indeed, after being quoted slagging Sony-BMG over the way it handled Idol winner Casey Donovan, Ricki-Lee knows she should choose her words more wisely when commenting on Idol matters. "I've learnt now I don't say anything bad about everyone. "I'm everybody's friend. I like sitting on the fence." www.dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story.jsp?sectionid=1266&storyid=3245723
