Callea woos wannabes From Sydney Confidential June 06, 2005 Last year's Idol runner-up Anthony Callea / AAP SYDNEY might be Casey Donovan's home turf but it was Australian Idol runner-up Anthony Callea who was on hand at the Idol 3 auditions yesterday to entertain and encourage the hundreds of hopefuls. Callea, who has enjoyed more record label support than Donovan since coming second in last year's competition, made the trip up from Melbourne to lend his support to auditionees. Even though she won the talent quest last year, Donovan has had to endure whispers that record label Sony BMG was ready to cut her loose earlier this year, poor-performing singles, a concert tour that was hardly promoted by her label and more than a month-long hiatus on her official website. Hopefully whoever scores the contract at the end of this year's Idol will be a little more lucky. entertainment.news.com.au/story/0,10221,15523621-7484,00.html
