No-show 'Fro after flu sets in
March 18, 2005
GUY Sebastian might well be wondering if God has forsaken him.
The 'fro, a devout christian, has had to cancel two shows and postpone another because the former Australian Idol winner has been struck down with a bout of the flu and lost his voice.
Sebastian's record label Sony BMG yesterday said doctors told the singer to rest up and not sing "for a few days" to avoid any damage to his voice.
Consequently, Sebastian, on the road for his second tour in support of his album Beautiful Life, was forced to postpone last night's show at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL.
Today's performance at the Royal Easter Show has been canned, as has his journey up to Newcastle to perform as part of the Channel V Billabong Detour.
It's the latest in a string of dramas for the disaster-prone singer.
Last year, Sebastian hobbled onto the State Theatre stage in a leg brace after tearing several ligaments in his ankle courtesy of a rowdy game of football with fellow Idol contestant Rob "Millsy" Mills.
Earlier this year, Sebastian was forced to dump his car on the Wakehurst Parkway after being booked by the cops for failing to change his South Australian driver's licence to a NSW licence.
He arrived 30 minutes late to rehearsal for a tsunami concert at the Opera House.
The following day, Sebastian was late again after the taxi he'd called failed to show up.
Shortly after that incident, he left his bag at an X-Ray machine at Melbourne airport.
The bag contained the Palm Beach resident's house keys.
