hey Hairbear and MbN, thanks but just want to show there are NICE Shannon fans around just as I know there are good Guy ones around too..
Just defended Reggie about not being a whinger and saw her big loud post on the other thread ;D..I ain't going there!! She'll probably chew my head off too!!
Yeah I might be wrong about Cos and Paulini but they were good. Does not matter now that they were not signed by BMG. They are still making albums.
About this Up Close and Personal Show, a couple of members here said they are not watching it cos of the negative stuff that's coming out ..
well that is prejudging Shannon from a few lines from reporters, clearly condemning him before he tells his side of the story and
two, if it does not rate highly, there MAY NOT be one for Guy.
Personally, I think it will rate highly and Guy's one will be around the time of his album release...they have to make one for him because it makes commercial sense if Shannon's rate highly.... more ratings for Channel 10.
The thing is would Guy want to make one or not. He is not contracted to make one I am sure, it is separate from BMG, it is separate from AI franchise. He may not need the exposure or the money to appear in it. The same goes with the DVD. Maybe they did ask him first and he turned it down. I hope I am wrong.

"two, if it does not rate highly, there MAY NOT be one for Guy." AHHHH scary stuff!! Must watch it now. Ha was going to anyways. I think heaps of others will too. What's this guest? "The same goes with the DVD. " Did I miss something? Has Shannon got a DVD out? That's it... I'm on strike now...! Still we've got our own unofficial Guy DVD c/- Edster ;D. That'll have to do for now. Roll on Sept. Oh and Monday night of course ;D.

A few weeks ago I rang BMG and asked them why they haven't made a DVD of Guy's performances. They said it was because they didn't have the rights. Well, why don't they do something about it - ARE YOU LISTENING BMG?

Well, why don't they do something about it - ARE YOU LISTENING BMG? What Guy performances?? If you are referring to AI, of course THEY don't have the rights..it belongs to the AI franchise, doesn't it? It's up to AI to release them but they have done so already, on the last Greatest Moments DVD. As for appearances in other shows, you can't just take that and put it in any old DVD without their permission too. Perhaps someone with a legal background would have a better idea.

No you are not acting harsh..I am not fussed whether you or anyone else agree with me. What I've said 's just my point of view and open to discussion, *please note.. I said discussion and not flaming * I did say I could be wrong on Paulini and re the DVD.. well I also said it's hearsay so anything could be on that DVD... And I CAN TELL... the Shannon publicity is getting to you and quite a few others... That is good cos that is what publicity is designed for.

But wait and see......cause only the future will tel.. ;D You know what? They will all fade one day.... all! Yes even the Beatles have faded away (The Beatles I hear some some say with a quizzical look - see what I mean!) It is only a matter of time. In the long run it really doesn't matter. Let's just enjoy the moments while we can. They are both - or should I say all (including Paulini and I'm sure Cosima too in here) are doing well and having a ball. Let's just leave it at that please.

MbN, you took the words right out of my mouth. We should support them all and not be too picky about our own idol because if we the Aussie music lovers support them ALL , and be united instead of being so fragmented, they all get to have their day in the sun and we ALL benefit cos it means the music record companies will be more willing to sign them on for further album releases... It's a case of all for one and one for all... And we never had it so good with Jet, Pete Murray, John Butler Trio, Delta and now the idols.. we'll show the world what we are made of! I sound like a politician now lol.... must be all that talk about the coming elections ....

Hey MN I don't think the Beatles have faded away exactly ;D My brother plays their music every day - he is a mad keen fan - he has huge beautiful framed prints that he got in London, he has everything they ever did including the most obscure songs and performances - geez he sounds like me... obsession must run in the family My neighbour (and other friends) also love them and play them all the time too... there are still a lot of Beatle fans out there even now...but I do know what you are saying ;D Fame is fleeting and most chart toppers come and go... with the lucky lasting maybe 10 years or more. And the very very lucky few who just seem to be there all the time. As you said we should enjoy the moments ;D So support your favourite artists to keep them there as long as possible!!!

Fame is fleeting and most chart toppers come and go... with the lucky lasting maybe 10 years or more. And the very very lucky few who just seem to be there all the time. Yep. And even those with enduring fame will eventually just be a name in a book, or a hummed tune somewhere. This was summed up a long time ago - "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity and grasping for the wind...." I am enjoying hearing all the great music and seeing our Idol basking in the sunlight. I think this is the greatest pleasure I get out of the whole thing.
