Paulini on right note
08jul04
LAST year Paulini Curuenevuli was one of the most talked about finalists on Australian Idol, and will be always remembered for wearing THAT dress.
Looking ahead: Former Australian Idol contestant Paulini Curuenevuli is on the promotional trail with a new label and no regrets.

Now known as just Paulini, she has signed with Sony Music after initially being rejected by BMG, who had first rights over all the Idol finalists.
"I was approached the first time while I was on tour," she said.
"Somebody said that Sony is kind of interested in signing you, and I thought, 'no way'."
She admits that she was a little despondent after not initially getting a deal after Idol finished.
"I was losing a little bit of interest in the whole entertainment business," she said.
"But one person that I have to thank is my Mum, because she was always like, 'Don't worry about it, just keep going on'."
Paulini is on the promotional trail and The Eye caught up with her after she had just finished performing a showcase for the music industry in Port Melbourne.
Looking back at the Idol experience, she has no regrets.
"I'm always going to be grateful to those guys for getting me as far as I did."
She still keeps in contact with Rebecca La Vauney, but rarely sees the others.
Any advice for Australian Idol 2 finalists?
"You've got to be really confident in yourself and know what you want."
New song for Guy
TALKING of Idol, we're told that first series winner, Guy Sebastian, will have a new single to radio in about six weeks.
The single was written with American musician Thicke, who wrote When I Get You Alone.
Apparently the single has more of a disco influence than Sebastian's previous efforts.
We're told he has already been locked in to be part of Australian Idol 2, is likely to perform on the final episode of the show.
Last year's finale was held at the Sydney Opera House.
Sebastian is currently in Asia promoting his album t As I Am.
