Bald bid for red carpet glory

THERE was class and style on the red carpet, but more than a fair share of shockers.
SERIAL red carpet shocker Susie Elelman has pulled some crazy outfits in her time.
But she left the crowd and media stunned with her hooded Logies ensemble.
After creeping up the carpet looking like something out of Star Wars, she flicked off her cape to reveal a shaved head.
Elelman said she did the big shave to celebrate her 30 years in showbiz and her imminent 50th birthday.
"I did it Friday night - and I actually did it myself," she said.
Elelman's Christopher Essex gown also showed off her fabulous new figure. "I've been training for the last 18 months with Jeff Fenech," she revealed.
Tribute to Bert
AUSTRALIAN Idol favourite Courtney Act stepped out in a fantastic frock that was reminiscent of THAT credit-card dress at the Oscars.
Her figure-hugger was made from loads of little black-and-white photos of Bert Newton - held together with strands of leather.
The glamour girl said it was a loving tribute to Bert.
"It's hard enough wearing it - it's going to be even harder sitting down," she said. "I love Bert and I thought, what better time to do a little tribute to Bert?
"I'm very fearful because I feel there could be anything popping out anywhere, and I could quite easily be nude on the red carpet." She's a survivor
ROCK chick Anastacia won over the media with her down-to-earth attitude.
The singer, who recently survived a cancer scare, stepped out in a "Survivor Chick" breast-cancer-awareness top, teamed with a Versace cardigan and flowing Roberto Cavalli skirt.
The Logies performer said she was dying to hit the shops in Melbourne - when she'd finished her "like, 20,000 hours" of interviews scheduled for today.
She told The Eye that she had spoken to Delta Goodrem, to share her own experience with battling cancer.
"I just want to squeeze her," she said. "It's fantastic that she's here." Out of the closet
SQUARE-jawed soapie star Ronn Moss said he enjoyed his first Logies so much, he came back for seconds.
But the man otherwise known as Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful said he didn't make any special effort with his outfit, and it showed - a horrible grey trench-coat thing.
"It's just a thrown-together thing - whatever happens to come out of the closet is what I wind up wearing," he said.
No kidding, Ridge.
Little gets the bird
WHILE the big labels rule the red carpet, quite a few of our TV stars show off their fashion talent on Logie night.
Jacinta Stapleton had a hand in designing her striking orange gown (shame about the clashing green eyeshadow), while TV stalwart Jeanne Little was responsible for her birdy outfit.
"I've just flown in, as you can see," she cooed.
But her wacky gown had a serious message.
"It's for peace on earth," Little said. "I'm really sad about what's on the news every day."
Eye-opener
SUZIE Wilks lived up to her promise of something different and feminine for her get-up.
After telling The Eye last week she wanted a "girly" frock, she stepped out in an impressive peek-a-boo gown.
Millsy in with the crew
ROBERT "Millsy" Mills scored a ticket in after all, courtesy of Channel 9.
Millsy was nearly left without a Logies seat after a ticket mix-up.
But the brash Idol star proudly flashed his Channel 9 "crew" ID tag for the media to see.
"It turns out Channel 10 doesn't really love me at all," he joked.
"I would love to have brought my mum along, but the deal was one ticket."
Mills said his Logies party had started even before the red carpet - with drinks at the Como Hotel. Cold front
SAMI Lukis was working for Nine on the red carpet, as was her ex-boyfriend, Peter Timbs, who works for TV Week.
The weather girl and Timbs, who split only a few months ago, were looking very icily at each other.
Fair enough - they're in competition these days.
Cheap shot
THERE was no holding back Australian Idol host James Mathison when it came to talking about Seven's Popstars.
"It's absolutely rubbish ... it just looks very cheap," he sniped.entertainment.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4459,9322028%255E10229%255E%255Enbv,00.html
