ABERFOYLE Park's Kiki Courtidis has revealed a secret weapon in her bid to be named Australia's newest singing sensation on Seven's Popstars Live - Adelaide's Australian Idol, Guy Sebastian.
Kiki Courtidis has revealed Guy Sebastian is her secret weapon in her quest for Popstars' fame.
The pair studied music together at university and attend sister churches in Adelaide.
Guy attends Paradise Community Church and Kiki goes to fellow Assemblies of God church Southside.
Now based in Sydney, both catch up whenever their schedules allow, but Kiki says they rarely talk about the process of discovery and fame on a reality TV talent show.
"Most of the time we just hang out, bum around and listen to music," she laughs.
"We haven't really chatted about it much at all. "He's a good solid friend, which you really need around you."
The 18-year-old was not 100 per cent happy with her live performance on Sunday night.
This is partly due to the fact that like the other contestants, she didn't get to choose her own song and had "about five costume changes" during rehearsals.
Singing Crowded House's Don't Dream it's Over and wearing a black "rock chick" outfit, Kiki did not win rave reviews from the judges.
"It's a hard song and, to be honest, it's really not me," she says.
"I didn't like what I was wearing. It didn't suit me or my personality.
"If I get the opportunity to go forward this week, it will be so different next time."
She has chosen her song for Sunday, should she get through, but is keeping tight-lipped.
