After listening to both Guy and Shannon again, I ask myself take away the vocal gymnastics from Guy's songs and whats left? AS I dont actually like that sort of vocals but rather a straighter style of singing, Im left with preferring to vote for Shannon if Im gonna listen to an album of their singing anyway. Dont be surprised if Shannon wins this all you who think Guy is in laughing..

Look I have to agree with you.I totally accept that guy is a very talented performer but I just don't like his voiceand the vocal gymnastics. Vanessa Amorosi started doing all that shit too and i haven't heard of her for a while. Music is a funny thing, I can recognise the vocal talent but it doesn't mean i have to like the music and in the end its all about music. This post is from someone who really doesn't have much taste in music my most feared and hated performer is Barbara Striesand. If someone plays her shit ...I just have to leave or i"ll be looking for a bucket. Anyway I won't be watching the show anymore (after the cosima fiasco) I hate someone taking me for a fool and believing in bullshit. When they advertised cosimas interview on tonights show they totally lost me, they were hoping all the anger was going to result in extra ratings for the show KISS MY ASS ch10.!!!!!!

Musical style is just like food. Either you love it or hate it. Obviously you're into rock music, where vocals are not a big deal. Rock musicians rely more on their earbashing instruments ',"adrenaline pumping" noise of electric guitars and drums only to be matched by screaming vocals. Soft music can be annoying too. Perhaps soothing to some. It all depends on your orientation', the environment you're growing up in and the influence of those around you.

Hey there I have loved Guy's voice from the start but always thought Shannon would win - I hope I am wrong because Guy has the musical ability to fly the heavens while Shannon's feet will no doubt stay pretty planted. Unfortunately when the Australian public mass it's on the football field with a meat pie. Shannon is the "Ben, Peter and Reggie" of Australian Idol and hey, that's okay but it would be nice if just for once a bit of imagination came into play.
Australia is a wonderful place but I await the time the masses finally feel secure enough to broaden there horizons, see past the aussie battler profile and realise that one doesn't have to fit that profile to be worthy.

they are both fantastic performers, and i think it is right that they both have record deals. guy won because he appealed to the audience who watched aus idol. he suits the age group, whereas, ppl who didnt watch it may like shannon cause he has a more general attraction. i think the fact that guy "won" the deal may make the public think "oh, here we go again another popstar" he will have that label. whereas, ppl will think shannon worked 4 his. winning can either work 4 u, or against u. i love both of them, but i do prefer shannon's vocals better. the runner up usually does the best anyway. guy will be shoved in the public's face so much that it wil turn them off him. oh well, i wish them both success. luv janine
