Whilst there is no denying the talent of Cossima, does she really believe she is in such a league that allows her to ASSUME (remember never assume as you will make an ass out of u and me) that she was in the final 2! Perhaps she was, but the public has the right to know. Our family believe the matter was handled atrociously and became an embarassment to both Guy and Shannon. Shannon in particular was left with egg on his face not knowing whether he actually was already in the final 2. Perhaps the producers should refund all monies to Cossima voters and Shannon voters because the decision according to Cossima was already in the bag. The thunder was taken away from Shannon and Guy looked very dumbfounded that he should get the original glory. Cossima is no Delta Goodrem, so please do not insult the public by expecting us to believe that she was going to be The Australian Idol. Whilst Cossima has personally made the correct decision in saving her talented voice, she should be ashamed of herself and her diva like behaviour. Did not know who we would vote for of the final 2, but now it will definately be Shannon if only out of the need to make him feel that he deserved to be there anyway.

Personally I really don't think it's right to give finalists 'pity' votes and I'm sure neither Shannon or Guy would want to win because they thought people felt sorry for them. If you think Shannon has the most talent and would like to buy an album of his then go ahead and vote for him....but if your just voting to make him feel better about the events surrounding his inclusion in the final.....you really should just save your money.
Please vote fairly! Vote for the finalist you think has the most talent whomever that may be! This contest shouldn't be about sympathy, pity, race, religion or sexuality.......it should only be about TALENT!
Go Guy....you are absolutely awesome!

I don't think Cosima assumed she was in the final two. It may have been her decision to leave the comp, but how the announcement was made and the timing would have been up to the show's producers.

I was disappointed to see Cosima go, but I do have to admit her voice was off key for some time now, but her exit was not fair for shannon to be in final two because he doesnt deserve that credit, he hasn't got the right star quality about him to even be a finalist!!!I can see Cosima improve in future so good luck to her voice recovering! At the very least - the producers of Idol and Grundy have a lot to answer to. They have decreased the integrity of the voting system (not that it had much integrity in the first instance) regarding this sort of competition.
How the hell does the Australian public know when Cossima made her decision - we're only going on the producers answer (and yeah - we trust the network and producers of the show??!!) The producers are basically saying they only knew at 7.00pm because that's the only time the public can claim back their money. Bullshit - they'll say whatever they want to say and the public just have to reluctantly accept that??!!
The Australian public have injected more than $1 million into Grundy and Telstra.
IT'S ALL A RATINGS AND MONEY SCAM EVENT FOR IDOL PRODUCERS AND GRUNDY!
Why do networks ruin healthy competition with these sorts of polling, money scams?? It's not a true representation of the public voting system - it can't be with $$$ attached to it!

Are you all really that thick not to realise that the winner of this show was worked out before even week one was over
go back and review the tapes and listen to the judges as for us voting them is a load of crap that is just a money revenue for them how else they going to get it sponsored if it wasn't the system would of been a lot fairer for all states to participate instead of the eastern staters correct....
and the judges my god you are stupid if you really believe their comments have no influence over how you vote they beef up the ones they want to be there down grade those they don't lol
the whole thing is rigged Guy is a song writer and singer in his own right already so what better way to promote his career than to make him the winner of Australian Idol lol
come on the guy sings like a dog on heat he tone never changes is like a record stuck so how can you say he is a great singer you can't but I bet you anything he is the over all winner lol .....

No chance for Shannon. No more show.

I agree with you totally 'Shame'. The whole thing is a total scam. The winners would have been 'established' a long time ago, and the public have been drawn along week by week, continually voting and making THEM richer. Not to mention the feelings of all the contestants, having to rehearse week after week only to be ripped apart by the judges who are influencing the votes with their comments. The producers have a lot to answer for!

If Cosima was going to withdraw, she should have done it at the start of the show. At the very least, before it was announced that Guy was staying. It makes it look like she would have stayed if she was the highest vote but wasn't going to risk being voted out if she wasn't. I don't think it was fair, but still, give the girl a break. Let's get on with the show and let her do her thing.

It wasn't Cosima who timed the announcement in the show, the producers left it to the very last ad break just to gather more ratings. If Cosima had made the speech at the beginning of the show, people would've switched over. True it was really bad timing of the announcement, but it wasn't Cosima's fault..it was the producers.
