Job-hunting Millsy chases the limelight
October 22, 2003
AFTER Idol on Monday night, Millsy said he'd be spending the coming months "being smart" and chasing the limelight.
"This has just been the chance of a lifetime. I'd be stupid if I didn't use this experience for what I can," he said.
An entertainer as much as a singer, Millsy said he'd love a career in television – anything from Neighbours to hosting.
"Even the theatre, you know. I'd just like to keep performing."
WHILE Millsy wants to stay in the spotlight, unfortunately his departure from the Ten show means his mum, Mrs Millsy, has lost a regular gig, too. For the past couple of weeks, Mrs Millsy has been helping warm up the live audience, belting out a few of her favourite tunes. After seeing her do Hey Big Spender on Monday night, Confidential can see where her son got his entertaining streak from.
THE Yanks started it, then came British Idol, then the Aussie version.
Now, in the tradition of Idols worldwide, comes World Idol _ a sing-off between the finalists from each host Idol nation, challenging each other for the world title.
Confidential hears the sing-off is set down for early next year.
"HAVE I missed something?" asks Confidential reader Catherine.
"Last night on Australian Idol Marcia Hines directed Australians to vote for Cosima . . . forgive me for being stupid, but wasn't one of the previous contestants dismissed from the competition after doing a radio interview because it was unfair to the other contestants?" she asked.
"I didn't think bias was part of the judges' job description."
