Tears flow for the again idle October 8, 2003 REDUCED to tears again on Monday night when another two hopefuls were given their marching orders, sensitive Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines was back on form yesterday. "Monday's verdict, I hate it. I've never been such a cry-baby," she said. "But those kids are braver than me. I couldn't do this." Hines hopes that the elimination nights will get easier from next week, when just one contestant will leave each week until November's grand final telecast. "I just hope the public keeps voting for the girls," she said. "There's only two left. I'd like to see it come down to a boy and a girl and then ... whatever." As for Hines, who will also be lending her skills to the Rugby World Cup entertainment, she'll be showing what she can do and what earned her a spot on the Idol judging panel when she performs at the ParaQuad (Paraplegic & Quadriplegic Association of NSW) Independence Gala Dinner. "It's a great great thing to be involved in," she said. "You want to talk about bravery? Honey, this is never say die. "I really dig it." Tickets for next Thursday's dinner at the Westin Hotel can be purchased by calling www.paraquad.nsw.asn.au or call 02 8741 5622. dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story.jsp?sectionid=1266&storyid=304963

Dye gets in on the Act October 8, 2003 NOVA'S Bianca Dye and former Australian Idol contestant Courtney Act last night put a new spin on an old song for the official launch of the king of trash talk shows, Jerry Springer's, trip to Australia. Springer will film a special version of his show during all-night dance party Lovefest 2003 on December 13 at the SuperDome. Sung to the tune of My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music, Our Favourite Springers was delivered by Dye and Act at Dancers Cabaret. It went a little something like this: "Trailer park trashies and men without doodles, Backstabbing bitches and boys who shag poodles, Home sweet home-wreckers who have sordid flings -- These are a few of our favourite Spring ...ers." You get the idea. dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story.jsp?sectionid=1266&storyid=304964
