whats so good about his tour? he sings at small venue rsl pubs and night clubs for heaven sake! what's so good about that? and the reason Guy hasn't toured yet, is because he is preparing his OWN original songs, Shannon needs songs written for him, poor thing, I'm sure he'll last a little while I guess, gees can't wait for the next album, full of oldtown country rock, so fascinating and original (not), a songwriter Shannon isn't. ewwwwwwww. you mean he is preparing his own original crap like the one he produced at WI..

you mean he is preparing his own original crap like the one he produced at WI.. Point there. Originality does not guarantee success. Guy can sink just as fast as he came up if he has duds on his album. So don't get too cocky. By the way, Shannon had a choice to sing at much bigger venues but he wants to stick to smaller ones because he wants to keep the tickets at lower prices. Bigger venues means higher costs and that is usually passed to the fans through higher ticket prices. He would much rather put up additional concerts (he and his crew has to work harder of course) than to put up prices. Also h e wants to tour regional areas because they have always miss out on big acts and rather his fans travel far to see him, he is doing the travelling. And in some of these places, they have smaller venues. I must commend Shannon for thinking of his fans. Shannon does have an original song on his album. He has always said he wants to write more WHEN he finds the time to so give him time.

I've had it with people who keep saying I wish it was ... or..... Why can't we give credit to someone who is deserving?
Remember that Guy did not just dropped from anywhere to be in that huge program, he was invited!!!!!. And who made the push , Simon Cowell!.
The same Simon who is said to be picky , mean etc. He would have been that impressed with his talent as with the other 10 judges in WI.
I have nothing against Shannon, but I'm not into his music. To each his own.

My 2 bobs worth:
World Idol: We all saw different versions around the world of WI remember? It was edited to suit each country it was being shown in. So forget what order you saw them appear in on the show that was put together in your particular country.
Guy was one of the last to actually sing for the judges and all the judges liked him. He was the only contestant to not get canned by any judge at all. Some did comment on his choice of song and/or on his looks - but none criticised his singing ability. Simon Cowell told him he was one of the best singers in the competition. He also told him he looked a bit odd and added "but that could be a good thing" or words to that effect.
On Simon Cowell: if you have read his book "I don't mean to be rude but..." you will know his involvement with the Idol series is much more than just sitting there as a judge. He helped create the concept and sell the show etc. He gets the recording rights for any in the Top 10 (at least in the English versions anyway) that he wants. There are 3 Simon's involved behind the scenes - Cowell, Fuller and another bloke (don't have book on hand this second to check name).
Guy Sebastian will have been invited to sing on the AI3 show and most likely by Simon Cowell himself (if not him then some other bigwig involved in the show). He doesn't just roll up and say 'here, take me Just As I Am'!
BTW... why has Guy singing on AI3 got anything to do with Shannon? Why is everyone getting their knickers in a knot? They are both being promoted as BMG and their respective management teams (and hopefully themselves) wish it to be. Leave them to get on with it. Themselves, their families and friends don't need this kind of crap going on in some of these threads.
Their own friendship they have developed between them doesn't deserve this either.

shannon's voice is very flat when he is singing the low notes. if u need a reminder, watch his hey jude performance. please do not even compare him to guy - guy is in a far more superior league! i maintain that shannon would be an embarassment. lemme put it this way, australia is glad we had guy representing us on world idol coz shannon would have made the german guy look good! I agree, very good comments....having said that, I didn't mind his "what about me" version. But Guy has a distinctive voice and more colour and range.

Good comment Just shows you don't have to overdo a post. Thanks Holly....in fact it always amazes me with negative commentary, for instance, Clay Aiken sold 3 million records{approx}, and that entiltles him to be considered a star/popular, but that's not really that many, it's something like 1% of the US pop.....yet IMO he has one of the greatest "voices" I've ever heard. Although, like all performers, sometimes doesn't deliver and still must choose songs carefully...and this is same for Guy, all he has to do is achieve the necessary numbers and he's a star....if people don't like him, that's their badluck.

I don't think Shannon has such a problem with the low notes. Like you said above all performers have times when they don't deliver, and I think Hey Jude was one of those times for Shannon. If you check it out, it seems as though both have a similar vocal range.
