Don't some of those idols have great names - Fantasia, Latoya London, Leah Labelle.
By the way, Latoya was pretty damn good wasn't she. She is now one of my favourites along with Fantasia. Latoya certainly seems to have it all - great name, gorgeous looks, sweet nature and great voice.

Latoya *was* great. But I just sort of think...who cares? There are enough Latoyas already, if you get what I mean. Oh well. She certainly deserved it more than that Matt guy last week. Good luck to her!

Well at least this Latoya is a lot more human looking than the better known one!

I have to agree, I think Latoya was overated and I thought she was shouting into the microphone. I also thought that Leah was robbed. Oh well.

I have to agree, I think Latoya was overated and I thought she was shouting into the microphone. I also thought that Leah was robbed. Oh well. That's probably because she has a booming AMAZING voice. She probably grew up in church singing gospel. Which is big bold music. She was friggin amazing awesome and I hope she wins. Very talented.

Latoya does have an amazing voice - but I think towards the end with some of the higher notes, she kinda went all over the place. I also noticed that she went a bit off-key on one particular note.
But other than that - she was pretty awesome. I loved the beginning of her performance, you could truly tell she has a fantastic voice.

La Toya was really good, but I tend to agree: she was a bit too 'over the top' (for lack of better words) for me. But I liked her voice - she had a clear sort of style to it, that reminded me of Paulini.

I actually think Paulini has better control over her voice (esp. the high notes) than Latoya - well what we've heard from her so far, anyway.

La Toya was really good... I liked her voice - reminded me of Paulini. I thought so too. I'm surprised that our Aussie contestants would rate anything like as well as the yanks considering they have more than 10 times the population we have. I was somehow expecting far more powerful performances - like everyone of them being outstanding. But actually most are just ordinary like our contestants. I'm still waiting for the special one... something a bit different... something to turn my head (or ear)!
