Marcia, I was a 17 year old living in Port Moresby PNG from 1974 to 1980, you gave two concerts at The Islander Hotel in Port Moresby. YOU WERE MY HERO. We were kids going to school there because our expatriate parents chose to work there. Your concert was my first live concert and I looked forward to it for weeks. The first one was, according to my parents and their friends a HUGE success, we expected nothing less from you as our knowledge of music in the outside world was limited at that time. I attended the second concert at The Islander, which was held outside because of the large number of people in attendance. PNG is not known for its organisation at the best of times but after my parents and their friends rave reviews my friends and I thought we were in for the best night of our life. WE WERE HUGELY DISAPOINTED, a lot of us came away in tears, you left the stage after 1 and a half songs, a member of your staff came onto the stage and said you would not be continuing with the concert because "THE AUDIENCE WAS NOT RESPONSIVE ENOUGH", I still have all your albums, I still love to here you sing and I do not want to appear critical of you in what was obviously a stressfull situation. However as a 'performer' should you not have just done that?...to hell with the sound mechanics, you were who we came to see and hear and my young friends and I who were in our final year at Port Moresby International High School, seeing and hearing our first 'Idol' came away feeling very disappointed. I spent my childhood growing up in Africa, I spent my teens in PNG, I now live in Brisbane and truly believe you have the empathy and compassion requied of a judge on such a show as Australian Idol, as you have said many times you are only there to give constructive critiscism...still love you girlfriend (if I may call you that!) Regards, take care Carron x P.S. Like you, I hope the 'people' are voting for the best voice/singer.

Giving positive feed back or negative is important, either way it shows how to improve your self to become a better person. I have got to admit that last night’s verdict is a disgrace, shameless and absurd? Australia has forgotten this is about a singing sensation not a regular cigarette for breakfast. Is about charisma, personality, gifted, blessed, genuine, original or unique, etc. A person who can represent Australia locally and internationally. Show the world that there’s talent here. Someone YOU want to see shine in the entertainment world, to shine and participate with great artists around the globe, participate in movies, commercials all in the name of entertainment. Although this country is not going to succeed without breaking this barriers (no color-lines). Regardless of age, sex, color, creed, race or religion.. Nothing is going to work perfectly with that kind of mentality. Stop living in the stone age. As People watched how Australia committed failure which cause great pain to the judges and for my man Levi on their visions, not to say Paulini; personally felt like the prospect and the purpose on the show came tumbling down…It is a mistake. Now if you don’t know what I’m saying, I’m talking about a CHANGE OF LIFESTYLE.. Shout out to my man Levi; YOU did what you could so keep your head up and don’t stop shining them blues man. It ain’t easy for r&b folks in a continent for where it stands in a stone – age mentality. Remember what the Beautiful Marcia Hines said. It also goes for every other contestant. We’ll see who dominates for next week show where R&B/Soul is the selection? He's gotta come back, Stay Safe-

Carron,
Are you sure that wasn't the Mark Holden concert you attended? Holds only had two hits so his concerts would have been rather short. Yes I suspect you saw Holden and not Marcia.

Though Marcia is a lovely woman, warm, empathetic and understanding of the idol's feelings.. sometimes.. her comments can be abit much. I want to hear REAL critisism! She comments that Rob's performace was "great" i thought it was bullshit. He cant sing for crap!
The only Judge that is worthy of their seat is DIcko.. least he gives it to you straight up. No bullshit no sugar coating.
Thats what they all need.. REAL CRITISISM! Piff the other two judges.. they're full of shit and only play nice for the cameras!

Piff the other two judges.. they're full of shit and only play nice for the cameras! Im sorry? Holden was playing nice? I must have blinked... IMHO, Marcia doesn't need to be as critical as Dicko to get the same effect. The contestants respect her so much that they'd probably be a nervous wreck if she ever did rip into them. I think they respect her so much that a gentle word from her could easily have as great an impact as a stinging line from Dicko
