We don't have a thread dedicated to Marcia yet, so I'll start one with the comment that, last night, she said the exact right thing to Liban. Mark and Dicko just ended up talking about themselves at him, but Marcia gave him constructive feedback that came from a caring place and managed to prove that she is the classiest thing about the entire show.

Yes Marcia is classy all right no dispute but her judging has not been consistent and she has failed to criticise crappy performances when something strong was warranted. I mean the Pig Farmer - he's a good singer with the right song but his performance of Your Song was pure KARAOKE - I can sing it better I can tell you that now and I don't have to go through any audition process to find that out.

Did you audition Pink? Sounds like you should have ... see how far the pig farmer got? You'd still be there according to your self-appraisals.
I also disagree....Marcia has been consistent. She has consistently delivered constructive criticism. After all to judge is to be critical...hence the name "Judge"

I beg to differ, Marcia has not been consistent. She USED to give constructive criticisms but last Sunday all she could come up with was "that was just wonderful", "you have a god given gift" or some variation to that such as "that was lovely". Some of the performances that night were atrocious yet she gave absolutely no relevant feedback or criticism....

I must conceed Evy...with regards to Sunday I do agree with you. However, consistency does generally pertain to a large number of incidents rather than just one event, and to generalise I state again that I believe that she on the whole been consistent. As far as making a strong criticism (RE: Pinkline) is there any need for her to step out of usual role in order to make the often brutal remarks that we have come to love or hate from the other two?

AttackCat,
I'm not saying Marcia should come out and be "brutal" - that's not her style, however, she could come out with some more consistent criticism where that criticism is due otherwise I should be there judging.
I gather Marcia is a spiritual person and wishes to be at peace with the world but you don't have to be so much at peace that The Pig Farmer's "Your Song", Matt's "If" and Lauren WhatMe?-Tears's abysmal "Imagine" - you don't have to be so much at peace that these poor attempts get translated into some psychadelic, essence-coated, near orgasmic, groundbreaking experiences that they are clearly NOT.

Mark is the one who's been inconsistent... he used to be like Marcia and make such diplomatic comments, but now he's turned into try hard dicko... dicko, we all expect it from, but Mark just comes up with the most awful stuff...i reckon there should be a show where we kick one of the judges off! Oh wait, we've got 'Survivor', silly me....
