I think I am still so involved in the little baby thing (one three year old a one year old and trying hard to make number three) that I cannot be objective about it. Every maternal instinct just screamed to see that little baby so near a crocodile. Emotional reactions aside it was a fairly silly thing to do especially in front of the media. You would think that the public outcry would be fairly obvious especially so close to the whole MJ thing

When I saw the footage (the tv was muted) I just thought what a d!ckhead, as in 'you-kinda-except-him-to-do-that-kinda-thing' and in a good/funny way. But then when I actually heard the report I couldn't believe it!
Yeah it was a silly thing to do, but no sane person would put the lives of their children in danger, as a publicity stunt...ok maybe with the exception of MJ, but the difference between MJ and Stevie is that Stevie handles crocs for a living and has done so for a majority of his life. If anything was to go wrong Terri was in the pen and they'd certainly be other keepers as well!
It really p!sses me off, how all of a sudden the child welfare people are on the scene and want to talk and question his actions, when there are innocent children, being requested to be removed from unfit parents everyday, and nothing gets done until it's too late! It's obvious the Irwins aren't bad parents.
Baby Bob is fine; Stevie won't be doing that again in any hurry; and the media have a field day!

Well he was on the news, and i think the media did take it 2 far!!... i mean... even from the view of the shot when his baby was takin a walk along the grass would of been shot at an angle 2 make it look 'unsafe'. They had alot of out there who are highly trained including him, watching for bad signs from the crocs...
And if we weren't their, we shouldn't be judging him. Because we haven't seen the real thing from the audiences point of view.

Oh and he has grown up with crocs etc, and his children will 2!... so if we are debating this, shouldn't we be talking about that to?!... lets face it... we look at it from a different point of view, its like someone like the Queen, going 2 live in the jungle! ...
And i don't think he was doing it just for publicity! No sane parent would! I think they had it under control...

hmmm...? I don't think he meant any harm by it but I still think it was really irresponsible and stupid of him. Something unpredictable could have happened. It would have just taken one wrong move. Even the best make mistakes. Did anyone else here know that he is Barry Humphrey's (i.e. Dame Edna Everage) nephew? Really??? Where did u find that out?

God, when i first saw Steve Irwin, I thought, HEY its just a crocodile-dundee-wannabe,NOW he represents Australia! When I saw the footage with his daughter handling snakes etc. i thought WHOA that guy lets his daughter "play" with dangerous creatures at such at young age, what a d!ckhead! But when i saw the footage with him, his new baby and the...croc i thought OMG can he get worst? Imagine if that croc decided to take a chunk of that baby bob, then he might think twice about doing something simular again! But with all the media stuff he probably might think twice already (well, hopefully anyway!). I never really liked him in the first place, i believe Steve Irwin isa bad representor for Australia. People overseas already thought that we live in deserts and that kangaroos jump down our streets, but know they think we dress, look, act and sound like Steve Irwin!

Hell no....the child welfare lady from the US Gloria or someshit was on fox news and they kept asking if she thinks Irwin's kids should be removed. She said no but there should be an investigation. He gave her such a hard time since she practically tried to take MJ's kids from neverland herself! ....pffttttt....Talk about double standards.

I think the whole thing has been bown WAY out of proportion. I can understand people would react with concern if they saw some regular joe walking their baby around near a crocodile, but (and i can't believe I'm saying this...!) I think Steve Erwin knew what he was doing. Yes-there was a risk, but not a big enough risk for people to be so up in arms about it. He has enough experience to know how a crocodile would react to them, he never let the child out of his sight, and apparently there were otherhandlers in there (conveniently not shown on camera...) who could have stepped in if anything unforseen were to happen. I think the people who are outraged by it may not looking at the whole picture...and a lot of others are just jumping on the gravy-train because they don't want to appear unconcerned about a childs wellbeing. Did anyone else see Steve being interviewed on the news tonight? I always thought all his speech was put on for humour, but even when he was dead serious defending himself, I was still laughing at the number of times he managed to say "Crikey!". I also had to laugh when he said something like "My Dad did the same to me...and look at me! I turned out fine!" and the interviewer was like "uhhh..."

I think that anyone who is 30+ to 40 (like Steve) has had enough life experience to say - "hey if some crok bites off my leg, I've already lived a good life and I played with croks at my own risk". But how much say has a baby got? if someone bites off his leg, he didnt ask for it, he didnt choose to put himself in that situation. What will he say when his schoolfriends ask him in a few years "Why have you only got one leg?" What will the answer be? It will certainly involve something about his Dad. Kez.
