Sorry if this has been posted before. www.mtvasia.com/News/200406/11010911.html"Philippines - Australian Idol champ Guy Sebastian and popular Irish pop act Bellefire are set to take the Filipino audience by storm as they entertain them in a big way at the MTV Pilipinas 2004 Awards on July 1 at the PSC Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) in Pasig City. Dubbed as The Golden Boy from Golden Grove, Guy rose to fame when he bagged the Australian Idol title last year and shortly after recorded his debut album under BMG, Just As I Am. Its first single, "Angels Brought Me Here," has turned out thus far the best- selling Australian single, debuting on the charts even at No. 1. Since 2001, the phenomenal trio Bellefire -- who conquered Europe when their first two singles together instantly hit the UK top 20 and their rendition of U2's "All I Want Is You" reached double platinum in Ireland -- has been performing alongside Westlife. As their fame extended far and wide to Japan, where their records also sold like hotcakes, the Irish marvels have kept at it and only of late released their new album Spin The Wheel, containing the smash single "Say Something Anyway." Expect Guy and Bellefire to do their stuff when they perform for the first time in Manila at the MTV Pilipinas 2004. More foreign and local entertainers and VIP presenters will be made public in the coming weeks." This is a good thing guys. The Philippines has got a huge and thriving music industry and could be a big market for Guy. ;D

Great article, I hadn't read it before.
I love seeing the way that Guy is being promoted. I hope it means that he will eventually release his stuff there - Or has it been already?
Way to go Guy. I wonder if he will sing on it too or just present like at the Singapore MTV awards. I see the word 'entertain' in there but does that really mean he will sing?

Didn't I read somewhere that Angels was in the charts, or was being played, or something, in the Philippines.
That's a country I hadn't thought of. I still feel something might be done in India, but possibly not with the current film clip. (After all, its the home of the casts of thousands).
And what about Japan. mmmm possibility.

Hahahaha! Only about $750.00 return SoC! The thought has crossed my mind as well. ;D I could go and visit my family while over there. Filipinos are very musical people and the music industry there is huge! I think they will love Guy there. I actually sent a CD of Guy's AI performances to my brother in Manila. When he mentioned to my cousin that he had it, my cousin apparently started screaming and demanded that he let her borrow the CD. So it seems that Guy is already making a name for himself over there.

Oh, way to go...
We could book a little section of the plane, and have Guy Sebastian played here there and everywhere (I dunno how, but I'm sure it could be done).
What a celebration, what fun (check frequent flyers - damn) wouldn't it be a ball.
There'd be a whole load of us coming off the plane with big Guy grins on our faces.
Yes, they are musical aren't they. I remember years ago (I'm not gunna say how long ago) but we saw a cultural troupe come out and it was fantastic, displaying all the different types - native, Portugese type(I think - correct me Nanouk), I think something a little sort of SPanish, and of course the more normal Philippine type - that dance with the poles and the dancers jumping between while the holders clash them on the floor or together. That was exciting stuff.
Our lovely fro over there. *dreams of Guy flight*

It's left over from the old Spanish occupation, prinia. And I know the dance you're talking about. You're right, it's pretty exciting especially as the tempo gets faster and faster and the dancers have to keep jumping in between just at the right moment. You could lose a leg there if you're not careful!
