I thought now that a lot of people have got their DVD and had time to watch it, that we could all have a chat about bits they hadn't seen before or like the best etc. I hadn't seen the ACA (ch 9) segment on him. I missed it. I saw the Shannon one the day before but missed this one and was cross at the time (just getting the Guy bug). It was filmed before his win and showed his family and friends a lot. I loved that as they seem a little more tangible to me now. I had only read other's reports on them up until this point. My favourite performance.... well there are too many to name really because each one adds a little more to his versatility and shows off another aspect of his voice. I love Climb Every Mt as it shows his passion in singing but Crazy in Love gives us a feeling for how well he can sing pop/hip hop stuff. The Way You Look Tonight shows his ballad/love song style off best and Hidden Agenda along with Hello displays his R&B style. Oh and I nearly forgot Hit the Road Jack that shows off the power in his voice and the control that he has. Mmmm... can't pick.... like a delicious fruit salad really. It's the blend and variety that make it all so good. AGMF is great. I love reliving that. I never tire of watching it. He is such a charismatic person. When he is on stage he is great. Love the songs, love the atmosphere, want another concert soon! ---- Oh and if you don't know what DVDs I'm talking about go to this thread and check it out: australianidol.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=show&action=display&thread=1085796439

Got the afternoon off so I thought I would come home and listen to more of the GUY dvds…<br> Overall a great compilation of Guy’s idol songs and the first six months of his entry into the music industry as an artist. The cute kid with the gorgeous smile and unusual voice who was a complete unknown before idol, has come so far and deservedly so. These dvds show his diverse versatility in everything that he sings. He challenges himself vocally all the time with his unique arrangements and intricate runs – most singers just wouldn’t attempt it as it is just so easy to really stuff up. He takes risks with his singing particularly when performing live especially as seeing most of the songs he sings have a high level of difficulty to them in their delivery. Off notes are rare but it does happen in some of his live performances as he pushes himself to excel. He really does make it very difficult on himself by making his songs complicated so he can give us something different and special every time we listen to him sing. He never fails us These dvds show Guy’s rapid growth and development – heady stuff – and only six months in the industry at this point in time – he is remarkable and is going from strength to strength I believe that this is only a taste of what we can expect from this amazing young man – his career will be a long and illustrious one – I hope so anyway because I just always want to listen to him sing and enjoy all the albums that he will be making in the future. I’ll say it again Edster… you have done a wonderful job!! Your & MaybeNext & MusicnMaths' videos of AGMF are just brilliant... it was like being there again, sigh ;D ;D ;D

Hairbear....What's an epiphany? Whatever it is, it must be good...LOL ;D ;D ;D I watched both DVDs last night for the first time. My..oh..my...has he really changed as a performer. Looking at his early clips you can see that his movements were somewhat, how do you say.....Dorky....( Don't hit me...Please ). His voice has always been good. Now, in his concert performances you can see a man who is in total command of the stage, exuding confidence and style. That is his greatest change I noticed. Another thing I noticed is that he keeps the big notes for the big occasions. He really went for it in the Idol concerts with the big crowds. Good on him for that. The man has got to protect his voice. If he loses it, his singing career is gone. There is no way that he should go ballistic everytime he sings and I know he realises that. That is my two cents worth of observations. Go...GUY!

I agree Edster. To let it rip continually, especially with golden notes in a golden throat, could be dangerous.
I'm so glad you managed to get the AI3 one on there too. I hadn't seen the ACA one, nor the Toowoomba one, and always wanted to see Hello, oh I forget the names but the stripey jacket - Craig David one and the Ribena Berry one for which Dicko said he was the best unsigned talent he'd ever seen. So you really made my day, week and whatever. Hope the MO got to you okay. Please let know if not because a check would need to be made as to where it would be.
I just finished transferring whatever Guy on tape I had to DVD, so now I can really Guy myself out. (Don't get excited, haven't much, just little bits like so fresh - very small part of that and stupid bits)
Let's keep this Guy Word spreading ppl until we have a GuY World.
And I'll say it again, the more I see and listen to the AI3 song the more I like it. It showed what he was capable of and he didn't have to blast it out to show that. I think it was a very clever interpretation on the whole.
I hope he has the voice absolutely resting and keeping it happy, so that the album will be an absolute doozy/
But I still want a Gospel album and I'd like Song of Joy and I'll get off here now.... sorry *a whole lot of waffle going on here, you'd think she'd know how to post and keep em short*

Shame on you Prinia, you seem to have missed out on quite a bit of Guy's stuff. Well, looks like you are up to date now. Yes, I did recieve your money order. Thanks. I've only replied to those who inquired about their MOs. I have never handled so many emails in my life. I apologise to all who sent MOs. If I'm quiet, it means I recieved it. My only regret is that I did not include the Aust Day concert performance. I totally forgot about that one. I only realised it this morning. When this settles down a bit. I'll need to track down that performance and keep it for future use. I was in Perth on holidays when the concert was on that's why I did not have it on tape . I better stop now. I am really getting of topic. ;D

Hairbear....What's an epiphany? Whatever it is, it must be good...LOL ;D ;D ;D It is very very good Edster... I don't have them very often... but I do recall when I had my first epiphany as a youngster... it ate itself out of my back pocket and it was gone... so when I get them now...I tell everyone ;D ;D
