I know, Sav isn't exactally what you'd call handsome. (My sister and her stupid collingwood fixation) What 70's stars were your idols? Holden came and sang at your high school? I bet that there were a few giddy girls there(my mum said that some considered him to be their cup of tea)

Oh i've just remembered another one............Leo Sayer. I think it was all that curly hair! Still think curly hair and Fros are lovely. David Essex was pretty gorgous too. But I was mad about Leo Sayer.

Oooh angel01, I didn't really ever have any "idols" as such, just bands and singers I liked in general. When I was around 10 -11 though, I was crazy about the Monkees and David Cassidy (as above!), Sweet, Sherbert , and I've always liked Elvis , never liked the Bay City Rollers ,...........oh you're really testing me here! Through my teens I liked Queen, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, Stevie Wonder, Dire Straits, Bryan Ferry.... then I grew into George Benson, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top (bit of fun!), Roxy Music, started to appreciate the Beatles............... **racking brains** school.discovery.com/clipart/small/ani_thinkingcap.gif[/img]when I think of any more I'll post them! ;D ;D ;D

Skyhooks, Skyhooks and more Skyhooks. That Shirl was such a cute thing. Red, Greg, Freddie and Bongo... gosh I am re-living my childhood. Sobbed for days when Red decided to leave the band. I turn to the heavens and say "Thanks for the memories and for the great music Shirl". John Farnham is hard to go past for all time idol. Surviving from the 60's to now - he's been with me all my life!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

As much as it pains me to say it ... I was a Michael Jackson freak. I had a collection of three scrapbooks, numerous mags devoted entirely to the Gloved One, floor-to-ceiling posters on all four bedroom walls and - worst of all - a Michael Jackson doll. I used to dream of growing up to marry him - now I know the growing up part would have put him off!! erk.

David Cassidy too. and David Beckham sorry snuck that last one in, looking for pictures came across this one......(yum)

Yay, someone like me! I loved the monkees and really liked it when they played the reruns of the show. I like Queen and Fleatwood mac. As for Shebet, there's nothing to be embarrased about. I love them!! I have all their albums that are avaliable(if they've taken over my U2 collection, I'm going to freak) my mum and 1 of my 16 yr old friends have a thing for garth (each to their own). I also like sweek and most of the other bands listed. Mumsy, I like Skyhooks (which is apparantally unusual for a Sherbet fan, But my mum like both also, so I don't see the problem). Here is a funny, but true story: Skyhooks practised acroos the road from where my Dad lived in the early days of the band. Red had an eye on one of my rather pretty aunties and asked my widowed nana(who is about 5 foot and of mediterain origin) if he could take my auntie out on a date. My nannas response was to chase him down the street with a broom and sreaming at him in both Maltese and English..

Seriously tho angel01,
I liked Skyhooks a bit too (even if I was a Sherbet fan). And I LOVE U2....think they HAVE taken over my Sherbet albums (only bought 1 Sherbet album tho. Taped all my friend's records! ;D ;D
As for Garth Porter.......yes! He was my favourite too!
And David Essex's "Hold Me Close" B side: "Rock Me" was the first single I bought....holy nostalgia!

Lol. U2 were on TV on saturday (only for one song, but still). They sung "one". I was(as my mum put it) mesmerised.
As for Garth: One of my teenage, male frinds that use to hate Sherbet with a passion has now come across to our side. He brought a pair of red bellbottoms(which you can see garth wearing on the cover of "on with the show") to try and be like him. He claims that he isn't but it's pretty obvious.
