Well he really loves to stir up the pigeons doesn't he. Why did he have to compare Cosimas lack of voice with guy last song. I thought that was very unfair of him. Everyone else saw that she lost control of the song but he just did not need to dog her down anymore by pointing out Guys brilliance. He sure likes to kick a dog when its down!

nah I disagree. The whole Aussie Idol thing is to find Australia's best voice and it is quite clear that Cosima is several leagues below Guy in terms of vocal talent!
I agree that when Australia votes for the best voice they should compare Cosima to Shannon to Guy and ask 'emselves seriously who is the best talent. My heart says "Go Shannon" but I'll be honest with my judgement and vote Guy coz he has by far and away the best voice

well i can't agree because i think they all performed below par tonite. tonite was the worst show since idol started. they were all not at their best even guy. He was off her and there which was unusual for him and his song didn't move me an inch off my seat tonight. Sorry it just didn't do it for me. Cosima wasn't as bad as they made out and shannon was much better than i thought. i watched it again on video a few times to have a good look. He sang really well but i think the judges negative comments to cos and shannon over ruled their performances. But overall no one stood out for the audience at home i think.
i will vote for shannon tonite becausee he performed well to the studio audience at home tonight.

Shannon fans really trying to like his performances tonight say "Watch him again"....that's not what a "TOUCHDOWN!!!!" performance is about. It's about hitting you instantly and staying with you.
Granted, Shannon gave one of the best, if not the best, performance/s in "What About Me?" but it's about keeping the momentum going since it is an ongoing competition. He peaked early, and if Guy is given more opportunities and makes more smart choices, then he can reach his best right at the crucial moment when it matters.

NW Sux, you said it...
Shannon and Cosima if you ask me really did better than Guy in the early part of the comp, but the momentum hasn't carried on. Shannon keeps entertaining the masses with his down to earth karaoke-inspired style but that just won't cut it in the fickle pop market. Cosima losing her voice, I wonder if her voice can hold up under thae pressure of being a POP Idol and constantly touring, promoting, singing, recording...
Maybe Guy was within himself in the early part of the competition, I'm not sure but whatever it is, he constantly raises the bar and last night, Cosima and Shannon both failed to clear it.
Guy was slightly off-key towards the end of Climb Every Mountain but it was more a case of missing the mark and sliding back up to the note., It only happened once that I noticed tobe honest, I may have missed a couple of others but I only heared once. Furthermore, he was emotional towards the end - he is climbing this mountain and finishing strong. The essence of a marathon runner is to finish striong. Guy is roaring home with a wet sail.
I have to say for once Mark Holden was spot on last night, more of it, mate! I felt for Cosima but the judges only spoke the truth.

Perhaps not, JAYTEE but if you think for a minute that won't happen in the real world you got another thing coming.
I overheard Holden talking to Alan Jones this morning (no it wasn't my radio!) and he said how Dicko and himself are mild in this competition comapred to the real world and other real life producers. I don't think he really rubbed it in, he just had to say what was on his mind.
I felt for Cossie, the crowd didn't really know whether to laugh or cry (if i remember theere was a short deathly silence, you were afraid you'd hear the crickets soon) and in the end, I applaud her fans for cheering her on.
I'm not her fan by any means but I really felt for her, that must surely be demoralising to have to first sing after a true champion like Guy, and then have her voice give way in the high point of the song. She's great for just trying to smile after that. I won't vote for her but she can still hold her head high in my opinion. Lapdance and all (jokes everyone)
However, Guy for idol for sure.

Thats what i thought exactly. Although his comment that she was not up to par was correct he didn't have to second guess her on how she was feeling about guys performance. God it must be so much pressure to be up there doing it, and i applaud her for having a go at a tricky song with her obvious throat problems.

I really felt sorry for Cosima last night. Poor girl. She really struggled to keep going with such a difficult song. Last three weeks, despite of keeping herself in the competition, she failed again and again to get back on her best level.
I'm so bored with this Shannon, all this sorry posts about him, trying to explain why he is so good, yawn, yawn, yawn...He is not worthy. He should have been booted out few weeks ago. And, trying so desperately to cover his inablilities now he sticks the microphone up to the audience's noses? Is the audience now going to sing-a-long with him, so that he continues to be praised for being a crowd pleaser? I hear you - Shannon, you can't run and you can't hide from people who can see and hear what you are (not) doing. Maybe playing that race card still holds some hope for you, though.

I've noticed that her voice hasn't been up-to-par for a few weeks now. Maybe it's because of all that screaming she does When Mark made that comment last night, right then I knew that when the voting lines open, all the sympathy votes will be pouring in for her. I just hope the audience/fans will vote for someone because they're talented and not out of pity.

I thought Cosima would sing "Shaddap You Face" - did Joe Dolce threaten to sue - what happened exactly?

lol Pinkline Jones. Im sorry to say it was more like "Slap in da face" was how she looked after she completed her second song.
I cringed for her when Marcia kept saying "you looked so scared up there, talk to me girl" and all she could croak out was "it's just my throat".
I can so see the sympathy votes coming in for her because of this and we might lose the one and only person fit to claim the title "Australian Idol".
