When Idol is over, what are the contestants going to do? I have a premonition for the final 6 - any other suggestions?
Rob - Rob wins Idol and goes on to record a woeful song that Mark Holden writes for him (aren't all of Mark Holden penned songs awful? I'd be worried!). It hardly sets the charts alight, but based on his panting pubescent following, he scores a part in Neighbours, dates a much older Aussie female celebrity (Naomi Watts perhaps?) and then heads to the UK where he is never heard of again.
Shannon - after fielding off an offer to join has-been rockers INXS as their new frontman, Shannon scores a recording deal with EMI and is groomed to be their new James Blundall (who's singing career receded as soon as his hairline did). He lands a leading role in McLeod's Daughters, playing the love interest of one of the Daughters, where he can indulge his passion for wearing sleeveless flanno shirts and riding dirt bikes with his border collie.
Cosima - Cosima goes on to become Australia's leading voice in tv commercials - singing everything from car ads to real estate and margarine jingos. She also ends up on Play School belting out (Cosima style) 'The wheels on the bus go round and round' to toddlers and sleep deprived young mums.
Paulini - Paulini teams up with Marica Hines to record a duet of "Sisters are Doing it for Themselves". She then heads overseas, under Mark Holden's guidance, and becomes the 4th member of Destiny's Child.
Guy - Guy records a cover album of soul songs but his best gig is when Billabong surfwear approach him to enlist his help in designing a new range of beanies and scarfs for young men with unruly hair.
Levi - um, I cannot think of anything for him? Anyone?
Any other suggestions?
Has anyone noticed how when Rob sings, he darts his tongue in and out of his thin lips like a predatory lace monitor?
