I like thousands of Australians was stunned, shocked and disgusted last night when to my utter disbelief Robert Mills was not in the bottom 3, even more shocking was the fact that one of the top finalists Paulini was there in his place.
If the producers of Australian Idol want the show to be taken seriously and given credibility and more importantly for the good of those who have a chance of making it big (Guy, Cosima and Paulini) then Robert Mills should withdraw from the competition. It is clear that we have another Scott Cain on the horizon. Scott Cain like Robert Mills was charismatic, funny and to some attractive. His victory in the popstars competition and subsequent failure as a musician exemplifies the fatal flaw in competitions such as Idol and Popstars.
The majority of voters are little pubescent girls who can't stop fantasing about "Millsy". Marcia summed it up when she said Australia should be voting for a voice not a person. But unfortunately like popstars we do not have serious voters on how hands, and trully considering the talent in three of the top five this is trully a sad reality of reality television.
Personally I think Guy is the only finalist who could make it internationally because trully as Marcia says his voice is "heavensent". His voice is unique, unusual something that can't be compared to other performers. Paulini and Cosima have the potential to be successful locally I feel unfortunately they don't have the quality of Guy to stand up internationally.
So i guess it is only Millsy now who can save the credibiliy of this great show, as he holds the key to it being a success or ultimate failure. As we all powerless to the crushes of teenage girls, except for him.
