Guys,
I know the people here who appreciate proper talent are blown away by last night's rubbish - but the same thing happened with Kelly. She shouldn't have been in the bottom three both times they voted her there. She was a real professional and seemed to have real control with what she was doing. She was superior to every performer except Paulini and maybe Guy.

I don't really like talking about the long-gone contestants, because it'll only sound like I'm bagging them out. However, I feel the need to stress that the Rock Chick is a bad example of talent. Kelly was one of those contestants that you would either like or you don't - and frankly, I was surprised she (along with Millsey and Shannon) even got that far.
1. She was karaoke standard. Nothing great about her voice....and sometimes off-key. To me she sounded the same in every song.
2. She wasn't a good performer - not unique, a little TrY hardish Rock. Couldn't dance and predictable!
3. In terms of the package - Not pretty or appealing, boring dress sense...not funky, weird, or rockish enough.
I'm sure there are people out there who agree with me, and a perhapes a minority that saw what you saw in her. So, she had to go!
...but what happened last night was complete rubbish and defys all logic.

I think Kelly was someone who was going out on the night she did unless she did something different...she had one trick and did it well, but ya know, it's not fair compared to YKH...
Can't fight the kids...

I don't agree. She had a nasely twang to her voice and it wasn't strong at all. Shannon has a strong rock voice, everyone seems to be overlooking this. He is my favourite because I love his kind of music, his down to earth personality and his jackaroo looks. He won't win and shouldn't win but I think he is the one with the best career chances after this business finishes. This is all just our personal opinion and that's just mine. Shannon is my sentimental favourite because I can relate to his Jack Daniels and cigarettes style of voice - just reminds me of my teen years spent in smokey pubs in the late 80's.

Well you're all wrong - Kelly was one of the ONLY professionals - while the others were either bawling their eyes out or struggling with their songs Kelly showed a professional attitude and did a very good job. I'm not suggesting she could touch Paulini but she is better than Shannon, Millsy and Levi.
I've got two ears, I can sing in tune perfectly - I know what I'm talking about.

I've got two ears and can sing in tune too........but I just can't hear or see it your way!
Like I said, Kelly is one of those contestants you either like or you don't- and that is the heart of the problem.

I've got great hearing thanks (makes up for my myopic sight) I heard Guy sing the wrong words in "When Doves Cry" and correct himself and I can hear Kelly's peg on the nose vocals. Let's not get into a heated debate, it's just each individual's personal opinion and their likes and dislikes. I don't know one person who thinks Kelly should still be there or who liked her voice. She's a skater chick, not a rock chick.

Liz,
Well you're missing some kind of understanding. Your comment that Kelly is someone you either love or hate doesn't suggest that you have a fair way of looking at the performance. I listened to Kelly in the context of what she was trying to do and how well she did that - an unbiased view and that's how I considered the others. I didn't let any personal twitchiness get into my assessment.
Kelly did very well - and has more know how than most of them.

Pinkline,
I wasn't being biased, and I'm sure you know that too. I was merely explaining why Kelly wasn't getting that many votes.
I guess I haven't been politically correct by using the word "like" and dislike to explain that some people who have two ears and can sing in tune can still think that Kelly cannot sing very well or perform very well.

GOTACLUE,
Yes well we could apply that logic to most of the singers on the show. But we are assessing the singers on this show as THEY are. Kelly wasn't great - not suggesting she was but she did a competent job and certainly competent enough to deserved a better deal that the one she got. If you are suggesting that Millsy is better than Kelly then you better prefix your posting ID with "HAVEN'T".

oh GOD NO, i have started to use millsy to describe someone who has gotten away with something they shouldnt, it may become part of our language. Imagine in swimming - "and Grant Hacket in a burst of speed has just pulled a Millsy by passing Thorpe in the last 10 metres". OR "you have about as much clue as Millsy on a good day".
Its Guy for me all the way, the last three who deserve to be there are obvious i would have thought.
