Hey, at least she's still there, right? I'm hoping this will give her the impetus to go above and beyond herself for the R&B show. She's got the looks, the voice, the talent.... now she's got to make us feel as well. I think that's what dropped her out of the running with the hormone-stimulating contestants this week- her performance was fun and flawless... and sorry, but it was fluff. She can do better than that. Sing a slow song (R&B, just in time!) and really give it emotion... Something like that might just turn the Mills/Shannon fan heads around. They're not going to vote for her based on her being a brilliant singer. Very few people care about technical perfection unless they're listening to an opera. They'll vote if they can emote with her- that's what music is all about. So give it your heart, Paulini! We're all waiting for something special after that wake-up call... Paulini hitting the low notes would be a lovely thing indeed...

I just hope it's a wake up call for people to get off their chuff and vote for the girl!
But what bugs people is Paulini has been excellent every week, and YKW has been pants most weeks, so it's a touch unfair she has to prove anything...

Ala- you may have a point.
If we look at it that way- the songs Paulini and Levi chose were 'fluff'. Even Shannon's song wasn't that meaningful and emotional. And that's what brought down Cle and Lauren as well. The public want some emotional stuff.
Rob's song probably drew in a lot of sentimentality, in a way that type of song is nearly always a safe bet.
Paulini did it with "Somewhere" and "Eternal Flame", Cosima with the Chisel song, Shannon with "What About Me?" and Guy with "Everything I Do..."
I agree- we've seen now that Paulini has to do those heart-wrenching type songs, not those light, fluffy songs. I am sure she will pick something really soulful for the r'n'b show, there's a big choice.

Well, I got shivers whenever she sang the chorus tonight. Restraint is the key to beauty when you've got a voice that powerful. Beautiful, beautiful when she's not belting it out. I think I was the only person in Australia who didn't like her performance of Chains... and I'm probably the only person who really liked her performance tonight, too.
