THANK YOU! Completely agreed there, BlueBear. LAUREN SUCKS. She's always sucked to me, and her dismal performance last night just confirmed that even further. I don't understand how Matt was eliminated and she was kept on. *shakes head* VERY ANNOYED.

Same here, I was very surprised that Lauren stayed on. She's a very nervous and stiff performer and not a good singer + a bad song choice on Sunday.
Apart from the massive support from high school students, you shouldn't forget the votes coming from the many male supporters. Since there aren't any/many (?) pretty girls in the finals, most guys/boys have resorted to vote for Lauren - who has that girl-next-door look.
It's just like how almost every chick out there has been voting for Matt, Rob or Levi.

Well, I'm a chick (and a teenage one at that) and I did vote for Levi, but not based on his looks. I also voted Paulini, Cosima and Guy. You guys rock.

aghr i agree totally! i can't believe she got through! did any1 notice after the 'inside idol' preview, when she came offstage she was crying on her mother's shoulder.... if she can't last one night without her mummy, then how's she going to go living the life of a popstar!? does it shit anyone else that she always looks like she's going to cry, even if she's not!? grrrr |

That wasn't her mum, it was Erena, the singing coach. And Bek was doing the same thing - she also stuck her hand in the camera. Both of them weren't too pleased with their performances, I take it.
But Lauren sucks. Next week is her week.

Well, in this board, too. Many people dislike Lauren. I wo't say she is sux because it's kinda impolite. But surely, she performed really poor. She is young, why pretend to be mature like over 30 years old? And her voice is not like that mature. She absolutely went to the wrong way. And I don't understand why she got it through. I think it's because the judges wanted her to stay. Or, maybe she has some rich friends who don't mind to spend over wasting $5000 to give her a vote for a week.
If she's be out to be an Australian Idol, well, it's proved that Dicko's business sense is failed!

I totally agree wit u not only that the poor girl still goes to skool.
the judges all suck if they keep on saying shes the best etc......... i vote her off !sorry girlfriend! i guess your not tha singing matierial.

I love Lauren, I feel like I'm the only one  the only one in the top twelve i really disliked was Matt, but then he proved me wrong on that Rise up song - he sounds fantastic! I don't think it will be Lauren gone next week. |

The sight of Lauren crying sent me to tears, but I have to agree... she should have been voted out!!! There is no way she'll be the Australian Idol!!!

I'm really sick and tired of ppl (esp. the juges) using Lauren's age as an excuse for her bad performances. Lauren is 17 not a 12 year old!!! not that young! Try Levi whose 19 (whose oozing with confidence) and Ben who was 18 (I couldn't resist putting his name in  ). Mandy moore who debut at 15, Britney Spears at 17 and Delta Goodrem who is 18 atm.... ....Lauren needs to grow up, (burt not in a 30 year old way) in the sense of showing confidence. |

The best example of the special treatment and sympathy votes Lauren has gotten all the way through the show is when you compare her to Hailey Cramer, who performed in the second semi-final round (she did 'Run To You' by Whitney Houston, for those who don't remember) - she was also 17 and could have sung circles around Lauren with her big beautiful voice. The judges weren't lenient on her and didn't even give her a second chance, yet they worshipped the ground Lauren walked on after her very average performance (or should I say 'butchering') of 'Imagine'.
For some reason, there's something about Lauren that makes everyone go, 'Awww!'. Well, I don't see it. And she better well grow up and stop playing on the sympathy card or else she'll be out very, very soon.
