Before I start, I fully admit that this is just a rumour, but I was wondering if there was any truth to it, if anyone else had heard this rumour, or if anyone else thought it was plausible. I heard from my teacher at school that BMG Records (Dicko's record label) has already started collecting songs for Paulini's album. That is, they have assumed that she will win the competition, as their comments about her were supposed to manipulate Australia into voting in a certain way. After all, I don't remember a negative comment about Paulini by the judges since she reached the top 12. I know her performances have been successful, but you wouldn't think they were all so perfect that the judges had no advice to offer. Before last night, they thought they were successful, but when she was in the bottom 3, they were really shocked (as we saw) & this was the reason for their outrage. Does anyone else think this is true? Please reply Tammy

Could be on to something there, your also right about them never criticising here on anything. I've noticed sometimes when she sings its not that perfect. (Low notes in particular)
It did seem last night that they all were favouring her. But really is Australian Idol all about what the judge’s want or what the public want?
Time will tell I guess

If they want Paulini so bad then they must think she is wonderful and I haven't seen anything for them to be critical about - she is just so professional and inspiring that I believe they are talking from a business and emotional point of view - Paulini is the complete package and they are telling the public why they should be voting for her! But do they really need to say anything anyway? We all know she has IT!

They are picking songs for all of them....Even the guys who have already left are bringing out songs in the near future. It doesn't mean it is rigged. Even if she doesn't win, BMG will probably sign her up independently of the the comp.

I reckon the rumour is bullshit. Teachers are a kind of insular in my experience. Apparently they gave her negative comments before the live audience thing...that she was too shy or something & needed to stop hiding behind a wall.

I don't think the comp is rigged, but even tho I felt sorry that Paulini was in the bottom 3, The comment from Marcia was OK, but when Paulini said it at the end of the night, that may lose her some votes. Cosima blew it for me big time. On Unplugged she said that she needed an Australian fan base, in order to be signed in the USA. THAT IS A COP-OUT! Are Australians being used by her? Guy is the best by far. He is the total package. I am sick of manufactured little blonde half-naked singing budgies who have very minimal talent. Please Australia..choose someone with substance.

I don't think BMG Records is arrogant enought to think that Paulini will win and they're already compiling songs for Paulini's future album. The more likely scenario is that BMG Records or another record company is already thinking of signing her up, whether she wins or loses the competition. Besides, everyone knows that despite what the judges think or say on Sunday nights, the public will still have their opinion. There have been many contestants in the Top 40 whom the judges unanimously agreed were good but they didn't get through to the Top 12. I remember Mark Holden saying once, when he saw the first finalists coming through, that he was frustrated with the choice of the audience because there were some who deserved a spot in the Top 12.

i think this rumour is actually quite believable, after all, the judges have never been this upset by a contestant being in the bottom three - what blatant favouritism. but i guess it's impossible to know if it's true or not. but as for this comment: i think its great new if its true!!! the judges lover her so much, so hopefully if she dosent win, she will get a deal and bring out an album! i need to hear more of her paulini fan or not, i dont think anyone should say that rigging a competition which is supposed to be decided by the PUBLIC is "Great news".
