www.behindbigbrother.com/Proof that the show is rigged Posted by Josh on Wednesday 14 July, 2004 Ok, so everyone knows that Dreamworld is selling MLS shirts. But how does this all filter back to keeping Ryan in the house? The Courier Mail in Brisbane reported that Ryan’s mates are selling the shirts through pubs in Adelaide. Mike Goldman and Big Brother himself brokered a deal between Ryan’s mates and Dreamworld which resulted in them buying a heap of shirts from Ryan’s mates and reselling them inside the theme park. In essence, Big Brother himself influenced the show by allowing a housemate to earn money off product placement in the show. What’s more he actively organized the whole deal. How is that fair to the other housemates? This is an absolute outrage, someone should tell Noble that we aren’t living in the 70’s (so loose the jacket) and the stuff he is doing is plain rigging.

Apparently the Alma (here in Adelaide) are using the proceeds from the T Shirts to vote the others out and have been each time Ryan is up. Ryan was previously a regular DJ at the Alma......
It's been done in the past, with the Reggie cookies and so on.
I think Ryan is great in the house, but PLEASE, let the housemates win it for entertaining us, not this way.

I don't agree that it will effect the show or that it is unethical. Similar things were done with reggie last season and TV and radio personalities in different states frequently mount campaigns to save or evict certain ppl. How is that fair to other housemates?
I concede your point about the difference being that dreamworld is selling the shirts but Ryan didn't broker the deal and lets be honest the product placed in the show is ryan himself not his shirt and he'll earn money for himself as will the other housemates. Way back in the first series Jemma was given a whole wardrobe to wear which was later promoted and rumour has it she was paid in advance. As I see it Ryan's mates organised the shirts (just as others have been done in the past) and dreamworld cashed in as well responding to demand most likely. It is a conflict of interest but it doesn't give Ryan any more an advantage than the others
the t-shirts wouldn't sell if he wasn't already popular. Whichever housemate wins it will be based on external support (and every housemate has campaigns for them) AND how they are in the house. All the t-shirts in the world wouldn't make a difference if ppl didn't actually like him.

Im just posting a copy from that site, not my opinion, im of the mind that Ryan had without doubt planned this well in advance with them and knows damn well what is going on, I found it interesting that Ryan picked Catherine for 2 this week and it is her that the MLS are picking on! Just a theory.

He doesn't come across has having that kind of foresight but all credit to him if he did plan it in advance (although he couldn't have planned dreamworld would pick them up). He couldn't have planned who to nominate in conjunction with his mates. Most likely the mls is targetting her because she is the least popular of the 3 nominated.

One of these mostly inarticulate people is going to win $1,000,000. Anyone who says 'youse guys' shouldn't be allowed to handle that amount of money.
What do yous guys think?

Just a theory. This is impossible. Ryan didn't know who his other housemates were going to be before he went into the house. Nor did he know how anything was going to pan out. Obviously he has had no contact with his mates to talk about it since being in the house. So there is no issue here. The mls site are just picking on Cat because they saw Ryan nominate her, that's all.

as i said, just a theory, however if he wanted to it wouldnt be hard, - if i get into the top 5, make sure you use the money to vote out whoever i choose my two points for. If he lasts this week then lets see if this is a correct assumption.
Of course he organised this with BB, he has the whole thing planned. It is a good idea but i dont think its that smart, enough people are pissed off with him now to ensure he wont win. Plus things like Reggies biscuits were not product placed in the house. He walks around all day doing the three finger salute to MLS and gets the others to wear his shirts, its not GMA with Bert Newton from what i was aware, if so why doesnt he just get Moira to come in and talk about the quality of stitching!
Unfare advantage however moreso the fact that it has been endorced in the house is a bigger issue.

The shirts sell for $30 a pop, Dreamworld would have bought at least a thousand shirts to sell, leaving Ryans mates with a tidy profit of around $30,000. Put that into terms of voting and around 60,000 votes can be bought with that amount of cash.

That would be the stupidest thing he could do. he has no idea how ppl in the house are portrayed in the outside world except based on who goes each week. From a simple statistics point of view they have to vote for the person next to him to be most likely to be voted out. Money raised would have to be used to target the most vulnerable person to be evicted. His friends are the only ones with access to this knowledge and would therefore have to make the decision.
Plus if dreamworld is selling the shirts for $30 there is no way they would have paid more than $10-$15 tops for them giving his mates $10,000- $15, 000, which buys 18, 181- 27 to 272 votes. A very small percentage of the total votes.
As for product placement in the show what can BB do ask him now to take the shirt off and tell him not to do the salute? You can't trademark an action. The product is him and is merely represented by the shirt. Product placement is a part of the show. Housemates are contracted for a period after the show and their image is carefully crafted. This is just another example.
I agree selling the shirts at dreamworld can be interpreted as favouring a candidate but it wil have no effect on the outcome and there are plenty of other comments in the shows which allude to other favourites.
Having said all this I want Trevor not Ryan to win.

I think the final four (excluding Cath) all are deserving, Ryan has entertained me with his stories and made me laugh. Paul has made me hate him love him hate him love him, but most of all he's kept it entertaining. Before Monica came into the house, Bree was never a favourite of mine, by I admire her for speaking up after Monica's departing speech. Trev is just lovable and also made me laugh. So good on em all - they deserve it in my eyes, they have kept me laughing through a pretty down period.

The show itself is unethical....has no one wandered the streets of late and seen the homeless...been to the local hospitals and seen the sick children.......I have to say that the whole show lost me as a viewer and voter when they bumped up the prize money... Why…….will someone tell me why does Ryan/trev/brie/boringblonde/annoying\agingsurfer deserve to get $1000000.....someone answer me that, and I might consider this argument.......$250 000 was bad enough for a no talent show....but this....for that pack of boring egocentric inarticulate (couldn't agree more frogo...he sounds as dopey as he looks) under achievers.... Can’t stand the show this time, if they had said they get 3/4 of a million to give to their favourite charity...or to improve or help develop something that is close to their heart then I’d be really excited...but not this...I mean look at reggie........all her money is gone...and she has nothing to show for it, so she is back where she started but this time she thinks she is too cool for school.......gag...what on earth are people voting for….at least sarah maree is on an anti smoking campaign and Blair is making a go of it and Ben (1st winner) is doing so much charity work for unicef…but now the show is just way out of line….. Don't care who wins.....hope it never returns
