1. How much do you know and appreciate Beatles music. 2. does it appeal to you? 3. does it seem old fashioned? 4. do you have Beatles music in your collection? 5. do your friends like or listen to the beatles 6. do your parents ram them down your throat. 7. do you think they are cool (the beatles I mean!! hehe!!) 8. ok - just for fun - are your parents cool? ;D
I would really like to know, because it's possible that for those of us who were there, we have a cock-eyed view of where the music stands with todays young people.
NOW IS YOUR TIME, NOT OURS (those over 30 ish)

OK I dont think i said that very well sorry frogo.
I appreciate beatles music and it does appeal to me.
It doesn't seem old fashioned to me, in my opinion some of their songs could have been written a couple of years ago.
I don't have beatles music in my collection because it's too hard 2 find!

I am seventeen.
1. How much do you know and appreciate Beatles music.
I know the music of The Beatles very well, and I appreciate it. 2. does it appeal to you?
Yes. They're my favourite band ever, and Lennon my fave solo artist ever.
3. does it seem old fashioned?
Their early stuff. But around 1965 they picked up, and Sgt Peppers onwards doesn't sound dated in the least (bar the psychedelic nature of the music).
4. do you have Beatles music in your collection?
Obviously, as can be seen by my earlier responses.
5. do your friends like or listen to the beatles
Yes.
6. do your parents ram them down your throat.
No.
7. do you think they are cool (the beatles I mean!! hehe!!)
Extremely. But again, mainly the later stuff. Though I should mention I am a fan of that kind of music (psychedelia and whatnot). Music definitely peaked in the late 60s (I'm listening to Cream as I type), and no I've never touched a joint.
8. ok - just for fun - are your parents cool?
I guess so.

THIS IS SO GREAT TO HEAR. Thanks for your answers - I'm really glad I started this thread.
Where does it leave the contestants though, because they certainly didn't seem very aware.

Chanel and Courtney obviously knew their stuff. Hayley may have too. But anyway, last night just confirmed to me that Chanel has to win. If not her, then Courtney I guess.

I have every album. They are without a doubt the greatest musical geniuses of the 20th century. Im 15 and while some of the early stuff is rubbish, 1965 onwards is brilliant

1. How much do you know and appreciate Beatles music.
I appreciate them tremendously, however, I do think that they are a tad bit overrated. Their songs are very simple, perhaps that was the basis of their appeal. I wouldn't ever go so far as to remark that they're amazing songwriters, because if you look at the songs lyrics theyre rather ... simple. 3 versus at a maximum, sometimes no middle eight, then rather repetitive (yet catchy) choruses.
I think their gimmick, their trend and their personalities played a huge part in their success, because actually around their time there were a LOT of artists who were just as talented and if not more so, than they were.
2. does it appeal to you?
A lot of their songs appeal to me. I grew up listening to old music, the Beatles, happened to be my Dads favourite band. I've seen the footage, watched the music, and I find their success story to be really interesting. I like a lot of their music -- however, I would never venture to say its phenomenal.
3. does it seem old fashioned?
Slightly, but their music is timeless. Everybody who is somebody knows a beatles song. Their songs are for the most part catchy and fun. So perhaps old fashioned, but I'm all about living before my time ;D
4. do you have Beatles music in your collection?
Yep. I have the Let It Be album, the #1s Compilation and Abbey Road. Great albums!
5. do your friends like or listen to the beatles
One of my friends is a huge fan of The Beatles. Everyone likes them "just okay."
6. do your parents ram them down your throat.
Not particularly, never forced cause I don't mind listening to them.
7. do you think they are cool (the beatles I mean!! hehe!!) Two of them arent particularly in the position to be cool anymore, I don't particularly like Paul McCartney as a person, or a personality, but I respect him as a musician and his music is cool. Don't know if Ringo is cool or not -- but his character in the Simpsons was pretty friggin' cool ;D
8. ok - just for fun - are your parents cool?
My Mum is a foxyyyyyyy ladeeeeee (Led Zepplin wrote a song about her!)

I'm 21 by the way.
1. How much do you know and appreciate Beatles music.
I know their music very well and appreciate most of it.
2. does it appeal to you?
Yes it is definately appealing.
3. does it seem old fashioned?
Nope, I love it!
4. do you have Beatles music in your collection?
About 5 different cds.
5. do your friends like or listen to the beatles
I don't know anyone that wouldn't enjoy listening to them.
6. do your parents ram them down your throat.
They did when I was younger.
7. do you think they are cool (the beatles I mean!! hehe!!)
Yes, definately.
8. ok - just for fun - are your parents cool? ;D
No.
Can I just say that using the excuse that you aren't familiar with beatles music is one of the stupidest excuses that could have been given. NONE of the idols grew up during the beatles era, in fact they all grew up decades afterwards. So how can any of them make that excuse when they are all in the same boat?
It also makes me think that some of them have had a deprived cultural upbringing not to be familiar with the beatles!
