Hi Some friends and I will be auditioning in Sydney this week. We are all professional singers so were planning on camping out on friday night! I was wondering if you guys had any advice. Also, you all seem to know what you're talking about so maybe you know how long people in melbourne camped out for? Like did they go from 2 in the afternoon or like 8pm, or what?!? Is there actually line to camp out in?I only wonder cause they dont hand out the froms till morning, right? I dont know much about it so maybe you all can help Thanks

Hi nohopetowin, Firstly why do you call yourself that? You must be at least half confident if you are a professional singer! Good luck anyway. Let us know how you go!

Hey nohopetowin,
Please, change your nickname, buddy! The fact that you're auditioning gives you a better chance of winning then those talented people who just sit on there butt wondering "what if" - I don't mean that to offend anyone. It's just awesome to see people who are willing to give it a go!
In regards to waiting for the auditions in Sydney, I assume that it'll be bigger than Melbourne & in Melbourne there were people who camped out for 24 hours. I recommend that you get there as early as you possibly can. The judges love determination! But you MUST bring hot drinks so you can keep warm. Cover yourself up. Take soo much care of your voice. When you get into the big waiting room, warm up your voice by doing vocal exercises (or just scream everytime Andy G & James say something).
I have also included the information of the audition process for you:
Audition #1: Is in front of two judges who are producers or have some involvement with the show. If you are successful at this audition you will recieve a blue slip which is your ticket to the next audition.
While waiting to go to the next audition you are to fill in a form that asks you questions that require long answers like "What musical/performing experiences do you have?" & "Why do you want to be the Australian Idol?" & there's another question that I can't remember.
Audition #2: Occurs on the same day as the first audition. This audition is in front of the AI executive producers Greg (something) & Steven Tate. If you are successful at this audition you will recieve a pink slip, this is your ticket to the audition in front of the famous judges Marcia Hines, Ian "Dicko" Dickson & Mark Holden. The audition in front of the famous 3 occur on a different day at a different venue but you are required to attend this audition wearing the same thing as you wore at the initial audition & you are to sing the same thing at the initial audition. Other information will be on the pink slip.
All the best of luck to you! The key is to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. For some more idea of how the auditions go have a read of the experiences that people from this board who have auditioned.
GOOD LUCK!!! Let us know how you go!
Lotza luv Sash :0) xoxo
