His voice is now deeper, but normaly not so deep like the Elvis-Song. In his latest song "The lions sleeps tonight" there was very high tones... Anywhere I can download these. btw Your satge for SuperStar is much flashier than ours which is a lot more low key. Yours looks a lot like the stage for WI.

Anyway you can hear other songs he sang at: au.geocities.com/kisses4guyxxx/music.htmlhopefully this will work better for you and you can hear the songs he sang for AI. The best ones to slisten to are (there will be some debate here from others but seeing as I am writing this I get my pick): Crazy in Love Climb Every Mountain When I Get You Alone A lot of people love When Doves Cry but it never was my favourite. Anyway tell me what you think? hmm.. i think "Hello" and "Angles Brought me here" was the best. A little different to your taste I think Guy has the voice for Songs like "Hello". Daniels Song The Lion sleeps tonight was found at some files-sharing-systems. I have a short sample on my webspace now. There is a second sample of Daniels song Superman. This song was produced for the GI-CD. On this CD was songs from the last 10 contestants. Daniel was the only who has a own song on this CD. Here the Link again: www.websamba.com/kollerg/idol2.html

Actually I love all the songs and had to try hard to think of the best that might appeal to you ha! I really do like these the best though and after what you said about the arrangement of What a Wonderful World then I thought for sure you would hate Hello and those like it. Misjudged that one. There are so many to pick from there I didn't want you to be overwhelmed trying to pick one. He sings heaps of different styles of songs but has a real blues/soul style when he wants it. Yep Angels is great and is his hit single. He has since rearranged it into a much more blues/soul type song - very different. Here the Link again: www.websamba.com/kollerg/idol2.htmlI didn't see those little yellow boxes at the top of the screen. I've got them now... good cos I couldn't get the other site StandbyMe as I don't have Real Media. I'll comment when I have heard them both. Takes ages for me to download stuff and everyone else complains because it slows down their computers. Get back to you later.

Well Apple I have just listened to them and the videos again.
I have to make a critical comment at this point. If Daniel is to make it in the English speaking world then he is going to have to improve his English. It is very hard to understand him when singing and this is when I know the words to the songs already.
I have said previously that I think his voice is great and his theatricals brilliant but unfortunately his pronunciation of words is poor. This will definitely restrict his marketability. We don't mind an accent it is just we need to be able to understand him. It appears too that as he is unsure of the meaning to the words that he is singing he doesn't always put the emphases in the right places.
It actually is not that hard for him to have English speaking lessons - something that will be money well spent. Once he has this mastered I think he will have a good chance in the areas I have already mentioned.
I hope you don't see this as anything but constructive criticism, for this is truely how it is meant. I have really enjoyed finding out more about him. He is very entertaining.
I wish him well.

Hi, first to Guy. I dont like Wonderful World concerning (right word?) the arrangement which i find not good. Guy´s voice is good, but this song i like to hear from louis armstrong. If he sings HELLO i like the arrangement AND the voice. Its both pretty good. Now Daniel: ;D Yes, his pronunciation is bad. My english is very bad too, but i can hear the special slang by Daniel. He knows this himself. ...but a bad english pronunciation should be not the problem. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger. Hi lifes now many years in USA and his slang is very terrible...but he is gouverneur of california ;D Okay, thats a bad example. You are right. If he will have success in the world, he must learn a better english. And Ava, he is realy a bunch of sunshine. He is a very peaceful people with many energy and fun. Thats very surprisingly, because he had a bad childhood. His parents has divorce. His father, who is now his manager, must work for the money and Daniel lived by his mother. His mother was an alcoholic and she was 7 times married! Daniel has many stepfathers and not all liked him. His older brother has beaten him from time to time. Then with 15 years he fleed and life a short time in a convent. Some months later he worked in a Kindergarten (is this also the name in australia?). His female boss was very happy with him, because he loves the children and they love him. Then he go to the first casting...only for fun....and the phenomenon was born ;D Oh, Daniel has his own column in one of the biggest weekly boulevard-magazin. At his fansite danielworld.net there is a translation of his column. If you are interestet, you find it here: www.danielworld.net/forum/thread.php?threadid=6264&sid=d500032c90c72af6dde54626036bb2b8

You are right in that accents are not a problem. In some cases they add that touch of 'exotic' which can be an advantage. He wil certainly be remembered. But we would like to be able to understand him a little better. But like I said, this can easily be fixed with some effort and attention.
What a terrible upbringing he has had. It is amazing as it doesn't reflect in his music at all. In fact it is quite the opposite. I will read the article later. Can't stop now.

Daniel came to Australia!? When was this? What was it about? What was this jungle thing you've been talking about?
Interesting that Daniel has been getting 'advice' about which concerts are the ones to be seen at and which ones are not good for his career. There is a lot of snobbery in the music world.... yuk! I hate that. Why can't they just let people enjoy music they like without trying to be one up on each other? Doesn't do for me.

Yes, the music-business is very hard and unfair. There some Bands in Germany, which was not seen sucessful on stage the last years - they now tattle about the casting-stars like Daniel or Alexander. Daniel was in January in australia for the TV-Show " I´m a celebrity - Get me out of there ". Many pictures about this show you find here: www.danielworld.net/htdocs_en/dschungel.php(navigate at the bottom of the site with the red square) 10 celebrities gone in the jungle für 2 weeks. First week the visitors has vote who of the people in the camp must go to a special exercise. That was hard exercises with snakes, worms, cockroach, spiders and other animals. The visitors been very unfair and votet him the first three days for the exercises, because they would see him suffer. Daniel was very good in the exercises and metamorphose to the jungle-hero. The second week the visitors has to vote out each day a people. At the end Daniel was third, but he won some acceptance by the visitors, who think before he is a wimp. Daniel has a hot flirt with the prettiest girl in the camp. She is 34years old and it was very interesting to see how charming Daniel was.

I've heard about that show from my relatives in the UK. They talk about it as if we should know all about it. We don't. We haven't seen it nor did we hear about it when it was filmed! Unless of course I just missed it all. I nearly missed the whole Australian Idol thing. I only joined in right at the end.
Sounds like Daniel enjoyed it and got some exposure from it. It also sounds like he had a ball. Where abouts was it set? Which part of OZ? The Daintree maybe?
Yes and I hate this whole snobbery thing regarding music. Who you know and are seen with seems as almost as important as how well you sing. Also "real" musicians look down their noses at "Idols" and the like. Then there are those who love to laugh and mock when someone produces something a bit different, makes a mistake or is not performing to their usual standard for whatever reason. OOOOh I don't like that. It is a tough world to be in and every move (or mistake) counts.
